How to test a flow?

Hi - I am using the latest version of PowerApps / Power Automate.  I am attempting to test a flow manually so I can see the steps processing etc.

Problem is I have no options like I have found via google etc.  I have no Test option.  If I create a flow to be manually run there is no Run option etc.

If I edit my Flow all I have are these options.

I am admin of my own environment - what am I missing.  I know I used to be able to do this when it was called Flows a couple of years back.

Any ideas are appreciated.

its not an issue. you are probably opening the flow from powerapp edit mode.

just open the power automate

and go to environment and selct the flow you will be able to test

Hi @Gargoolgala ,

This flow is trigger by PowerApps button, it's embedded in a Canvas App, you should test an run it from the App:

Create a canvas app that can trigger a Power Automate flow (contains video) - Power Apps | Microsoft...

I know I can do this via a button but I want to be able to see all the steps like I know I used to be able to.

e.g. I used to be able to click the Test option and it would prompt if it needed input etc.  Where has this gone?

Even the documentation in that link you sent me is different from what I am seeing today - it seems MS keeps on changing where everything is or removing features???

Hi @Gargoolgala,

It looks like you're facing issues with testing and running flows manually in the latest version of Power Automate. Here are a few things to check and consider:

  1. Environment and Licensing: Ensure that you are working within an environment that has the necessary licenses and permissions to create and run flows.

  2. Solution or Environment Context: Make sure you're working within the correct context (environment or solution) where the flow is located. Sometimes, flows can be associated with specific solutions or environments, and you need to navigate to the right place to access them.

  3. Preview Features: Check if you have any "Preview" features enabled. Sometimes, certain features might be in preview mode, and you might need to enable them to access certain functionalities.

  4. Update and Browser Compatibility: Ensure that you're using a compatible browser and that your Power Automate version is up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated browsers or versions can lead to missing features.

  5. UI Changes: Power Platform tools, including Power Automate, might have gone through UI changes over time.

  6. Environment Settings: Sometimes, environment settings can affect what features are available. Check if there are any environment-level settings that might impact flow creation and execution.

If this is the answer for your question, please mark the post as Solved.
If this answer helps you in any way, please give it a like.

@gcmfaizan  - thanks but this does not really assist me.  It is simply a generic statement. There is no detail on how I know if I am in the wrong context etc.

Can you tell me if you are running the latest version of PowerApps and do you have a Test button available?

As I stated - I am running in my own envirment as admin.

@Gargoolgala to be honest look nothing wrong init. It's a simple flow. I also checked it on my side with simple which triggered from power apps and the test button is also visible.
Try in a different browser or try to contact with MS Support Team.

Hi @Gargoolgala ,

Yes - Chat GPT copy and paste is generally not helpful . . .

As the Flow is triggered by Power Apps, that is the only way it can be initiated, however if you have run it once, you can go into the Edit screen and there is a Test icon at the far top right. You can re-run any previous occurrences to include any corrections/additions you made in the edit session.

@developerAJ - Thank You!!!!   Yes, I was opening in power apps edit mode.  Once I went in via Power Automate all the options are showing.
