Pre Order to Normal

Hi all, 

I have an ordering system that currently has two situations (Normal and Urgent orders). 

Normal order will be placed when users need the items around the period they placed the order but not immediately. 

Urgent order will be placed when users need the items straight away after placing their order. 

However, I received a new requirement where they want to have a third situation which is under Pre-Order. 

I have a dashboard that display all incoming orders (right now have Normal and Urgent). The requirement basically needs me to have another dashboard for Pre Order orders.

For example, an order is placed at 9AM but users need it at 12PM. I need to have a feature where when it is near to 12PM, maybe 30 minutes before 12PM, this Pre-Order order will jump to Normal and Urgent dashboard. 

I am a beginner, and I kind of lost with the backend structure for this advanced feature. Like I didn't know where to start. Can someone give me some guidance or insight on this?

Hi, I only managed to make the 'slot in' occur 30 minutes after they placed their order. Meaning that users are required to place Pre-Order orders one hour earlier before the time they want it. And it's working just fine. I followed your step in achieving this. Thanks a lot!

I was calculating time difference in minutes in the middle there. I apologise, I am late in answering that one.

Do you mind explaining this part? I need to modify the flow by following the requirement exactly as my current flow right now did not follow the requirement 100%.

Hi @Anonymous 

This is where I calculate the difference in minutes between two times.

In the start action, I convert the start time to ticks.

In the end action, I convert the end time to ticks.

In minutes actin, I subtract start ticks from end ticks and calculate the difference in minutes.

In the condition, I check if the difference is less than or equal to 30.

Hope this makes sense.

I put Substract from time action to minus 30 seconds (testing purpose, supposed to be 30 minutes) from the Pre-Order Time. But it only worked after the first try. 

Initially I put this:

When I did another testing, it changed to this somehow instead of Pre-Order Time column in SharePoint List.

You can do that as well. You can subtract 30 mins from your time and then compare it to current time. However, this might not always work properly. Using the gap would be efficent.

However, if it is working fine for you, it is all good.
