Modify automatic created formula

I am moving my first steps in formula editing. The automatically created formula from a SharePoint list for searching and sorting is:

SortByColumns(Filter(TestKanban, StartsWith(ComplianceAssetId, TextSearchBox1.Text)), "ComplianceAssetId", If(SortDescending1, Descending, Ascending))

However in my list there is no 'ComplianceAssetId' and indeed the search box does not work. How do edit the formula to search into the column 'ACF'?

I am after sorting in accordance to ACF.

Normally the first field in teh list is the Title Field which can only be text,  so you must have changed the order?  can you click on the ACF field to edit,  screen dump the structure.  Also in the URL box at the very end you will see the actual name of the field after the =.  What is that name?

If you change the name of fields,  the actual firt name is always still used. Eg: in your list you have teh Description field which I assume was the Title field.  In power Apps it will still be Title,  no matter what you name it in SharePoint

Yes, I did change the order and "description" is the Title column.

Shall I change it to ACF since it is the field with unitque values?

It is unusual to use a numeric field for your search on a textinput.  Hence the need to have it inside Value() formula.  Did you get the actual field name?

As the ACF field is unique and you want to search on it,  have you thought of removing the textinput box and replace with a dropdown control base on the ACF with the gallery then set to filter on it.  EG:

1. Insert a dropdown control where the textinput box is.

2. Set Items property to Distint(Sharepointlist,ACF)  - The ACF may need to changed to text - not sure Text(ACF,"#0")

3. Set the items property on the Gallery to Filter(Sharepointlist,ACF=Dropdown1.Selected.Value)  - The dropdown may need to encased in Value() as well - again not sure

How are you generating the ACF unique value?

The ACF unique value is simply a progressive number however, it is given in an external database which I have imported in SharePoint. 

Thanks for the idea of the dropdown menu, but I will stick with the search box - I am learning PowerApps and I want to be able to connect data from a SharePoint list and query the data. 

Would redoing the SP list with Title in position 1 and ACF (numeric) in position 2 help?

When you create a Sharepoint lits it creates a an ID field which is a unique sequential number field. It cannot be modifified but can be used in searhing and in a gallery

Hi, I'm learning powerapps and facing exactly the same issue, with column name different from Sharepoint to powerapps.

Did you by chance find any solution ?

If the column name is different,  does the name have a numeric number in it.  I have found that sharepoint changes that name to something else even at creation. 

Renamed columns often begin with odata.  So when using a gallery with put a label thaen set it field to ThisItem.  You shouid be then able to scroll through all teh field names in teh formula bar.

Actually not.

The column in sharepoint (I'm currently building up some test app) is named Type (the first column), I probably renamed it earlier.

It contains only text (laptop, desktop or switch) and seen in powerapps only as "CompliantAssetID"

but whatever I type in the search box will filter out no result even with "laptop" input
