Approval process Flow - Link to item does not display any data

Hi,

I am creating an approval process for when an employee requests a certain change to be made in a business dictionary:

1. User submits change request --> new item gets created in Sharepoint list with 'Pending' Status

2. Manager receives pending approval message with link to item

3a. Manager approves --> item updates Status to 'Approved'

3b. Manager rejects --> item updates Status to 'Rejected'

The issues I'm facing are:

The form to be approved by the manager shows none of the information filled-in by the user.
After approving, the Status column does not get updated to Approved or Rejected.
The manager receives an email with approval confirmation, but then afterwards gets another request for approval email.

hello community! I have a query about graphics in power apps. I have an App that records two pieces of information: A date and a number of hours. I want to make some graphs with this data that measure the number of hours per month. What happens is that the graph lets me put the date on the x axis and the number of hours per day on the y axis. I would like you to add up the number of hours in the month and show me a bar graph with the months on the x-axis, and the total number of hours for the month on the bar. How could I do this? I leave an image of the graph that shows me the number of hours in the day. That I want to pass it to month. Thanks!

Checkbox Gallery with TextInput

Hey Guys,

I have a form where I have added a Gallery for checkbox inputs. I have one of the checkbox choices as "Other". I would like to provide the user the ability to fill a Text Input if the "Other" option is selected. Is there a way I can do this since the checkboxes are inside of a gallery? The SharePoint column is a choice column, but I have allowed the ability to add manual data.

Storage Capacity

What and from where do I get this storage capacity from? Is 1 GB the default environment dataverse capacity? I have just created few environments with few canvas applications. Why is the data getting filled up when I do not use any files in my application? I use Excel and SQL server as my datasources, what exactly is happening? I have deleted the environments and applications except default environment but I still see the Storage is full and cannot create a new environment. how can I create a new environment again?

Filter Gallery by User button

I have a gallery where I allow the ability to filter the gallery by the buttons "All" "In Progress" "Pending" & "Complete"

I have created a collection of "ToggleCol"

I would also like to add a button where the user can filter Tasks assigned to them named "My Tasks"

I have a form that the users have the ability to add users, which in SharePoint is a Users/Groups field. They can add multiple users to an assigned task. Is there a way that I can Filter the gallery for any tasks associated with a particular user by clicking a button as well? I have tried a few different methods, but none successful. The SharePoint Column Name is 'Responsible Person'

Online/Offline sharepoint backup system creating duplicates.

So I've made an app for a field crew to record quality control conditions, it saves data locally when offline, and uploads when online. it also stores each record locally as a backup if an upload to sharepoint fails or if the record is deleted from the back end.

It works fine if there are no edits made to the record. but if the record is changed, even if the strings its checking are identical, it will push a new duplicate record. See example code below, it runs on a trigger to check the backup data against the sharepoint list.

Form - Aligning Field Heights

I have an app with a form. The users are tired of scrolling and want to shorten the form itself. Currently the fields are aligned as:

Toggle1 - height 50

Toggle2 - height 50

Toggle3 - height 50

Toggle5 - height 50

Attachments - height 250

They want to align the columns to reduce scrolling and use less space as follows:

Toggle1 - height 50 Attachments - height 250

Toggle2 - height 50

I have tried setting the form to 1 column and 2 columns. I've also tried the X,Y coordinates but cannot seem to align the fields as the Attachments-height 250 ends up changing Toggle1 from a height of 50 to a height of 250 to match the Attachments height thus wasting valuable space:

Hi all,

I have a very simple dataverse setup, 2 tables, Events (fields: Name, Date, Deadline) and participants (fields: Email, Name)

with a one to many relationship.

I have a screen where I show the event in a form and a button to subscribe.

I just have no idea what to put in the button on select event to add the user to the participants table.

I have another screen with the event information and a dropdown where I want to list all the related people in the participants table, I'm also baffled how to fill this dropdown with the participants.

I tried to patch it like

Patch(Events,Gallery1.Selected,{Participants.Email

but the related participant is not available yet

Seems something simple but I can't seem to find anything on the web about this

Setting variable based on Date column value

I am customizing SharePoint forms and in the Edit form, if the Approved Date has a value, then all the date cards will be have the Display Mode set to 'View'.

I set the global variable:
If(IsBlank(Text(DataCardValue11_2.SelectedDate)),Set(approvedDate,true),Set(approvedDate,false)

Displaymode of each datacard: If(approvedDate, DisplayMode.View, DisplayMode. Edit)

This doesnt work, can you please suggest or recommend how to set this variable coreectly?

Hi i have this gallery and in the column Målu. im trying to calcualte the complience (Utfall / Plan) and the weird thing is

that not all columns are getting calculated.

I use this formula in my text property

If i change the division to addition numbers will apear in all cells.

Few records in sharepoint showing the date as 1/2/2023, when I am trying to delete these dates from power apps or sharepoint they are not getting deleted. Can anyone help me with this pls? These dates are appearing only in few items. However, not able to delete them from the power apps form, and also I tried to delete the version history, nothing is getting updated.

Hide Popup message on opening the form

Hello,

I have a form that is a list of training courses, which is linked to SharePoint. Users come and edit the form by checking off training courses as they are completed. Basically, I'd like to have a confirmation message that appears when they check off a course. I have an exit button on the message that closes the form.

For the message, I have for the Visible property = varPopUp

For the courses, I have for the OnChange property = UpdateContext({varPopUp : true})

For the exit button, I have for the OnSelect property = UpdateContext({varPopUp : false}); RequestHide()

This seems to work just fine. The problem occurs when users don't click the exit button and instead X out of the browser or browser tab. When they return to their form, the confirmation message is still there.

I tried including UpdateContext({varPopUp : false}) for the screen's OnVisible property, but that seemed to do nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Filter between 2 lists thanks to a record

Remove flag of Shared Mailbox Emails connected to gallery

Next time, when I again add another row, the first row is also adding to database.

Got what should be a simple question but I'm struggling. I have a text input that works as a lookup in my Excel data to pull email address based on a couple dropdowns in my app. I would like to add some text from a text input in the app to allow people to add more email addresses that might not be in the Excel data. My first input box looks like this for the text property.

with an output of something like this. email1@email.com,email2@email.com

I would like to allow the user to add emails based on the input box in the app. I have tired these.

I have not been able to find clean documentation on how to setup a Service Principal to use with AzureDevops and PowerPlatform Build Tools.

This post does a nice job of showing how to setup ADO, but no info on the pre-req's of setting up the Service Principal.

Lets see if we can pull together all the steps in this post.

Here's what I have so far:

1. Create a new AppID in Azure Active Directory

- ISSUE HERE: Does this AppID need an email address?

2. Per this PowerShell script, add the following permissions:

"Microsoft Graph" "User.Read"

"PowerApps-Advisor" "Analysis.All"

"Common Data Service" "user_impersonation"

- ISSUE HERE TOO:

- "PowerApps-Advisor" "Analysis.All" does not appear to be a permission you can grant in Azure Portal to an AppID

- "Common Data Service" "user_impersonation" does not appear to be a permission you can grant in Azure Portal to an AppID

- The only one available says "DO NOT USE: DEPRECATED"

This is where I'm stuck when trying to setup an AppID. Any insights would be helpful!

Trigger a pop up based on Excel Column

Hi, I would like a pop up to show when I hit a “button” on my app.

The pop up most show if in my Excel column “Sign out” = YES that matches the same “Name” column

For example :

Name...| Sign Out

Peter | NO

Sarah. |. YES

MIKE. |. NO

If Sarah checks in (on a previous screen) and when I press “Button1” on my app the data (Excel sheet TRACKER) is searched “Sarah” will activate the pop up.

Excel in on my one drive

excel file name is “Tracker”

1st Column Name is “Name”

2nd column name is “Sign Out”

(It’s a text Column and either has “YES” or “NO”)

Any help would be great!

Google Sheet connector bug: saving powerapps forms into GSheet cause extra character ' at the beginning

Hello PowerApps Community,

My app has a form connected to Google Sheets using the available default Google Sheet connector.
When saving form into GSheet, there is an extra ' (single quote) character at the beginning of the cell content.

My formulas don't have anything that adds an extra single quote. This happens to some fields, and not to other fields. It seems to mainly affect field with numbers, such as phone number, numeric dates, etc.

For example, my form has the Phone Number field, the user enters his phone number 123-123-1234, the related google sheet cell will show a new entry as '123-123-1234

At the very beginning, there is an extra single quote, that obviously creates issues when querying google sheet table.

This seems to be a bug, and I am not sure where to report bugs. Any suggestions on how to get this reported to the correct department?

Power Apps SharePoint LookUp

Fairly new to Power Apps and struggling with something that I think should be fairly easy and common.

I have two SharePoint lists.

Review and Eligibility

Review has a lookup column that looks up P-Number from the Eligibility list.

I created a Canvass app and connected both lists to the app.

On the Canvass app New/Edit form I'm using the P-Number Lookup field from my Review list. I'd like to have a label, text input, or a custom data card that displays Name based on value selected in the P-Number drop down.

When I brought the lookup column into SharePoint I also brought name but adding it to the New Form doesn't help. It remains blank.

This forum and Shane are my main sources. I've read several posts and watched PowerApps SharePoint LookUp Column - YouTube but still unable to get it working.

Premise: Pick a P-Number value from a SharePoint lookup dropdown menu and display its associated name while the user is editing/entering data into the form.

Any thoughts, or recommendations on what I should be looking at?

Show activity log for each selected item

I'm building an app that has one-to-many sql relationships. The primary screen is a list of records. These records are populated by the db table Item Master(image provided at bottom of post).

When the right arrow is clicked the user navigates to the "view record" screen.

Note "620" is the itemID from the first screen. When I click the "Activity Log" button I come to the "Activity Log" Screen. These items are populated by the db Transaction table(Image provided at bottom of post).

Every item on the first screen has an activity log. The activity log should only show the log records of the selected item. Naturally this should be applied to the onselect attribute of the "Activity Log" button on the second screen.

How can I achieve this?

PowerApps Studio: odd browser behaviour in Screens search bar and element renaming

some odd behaviour related to the browser's password-saving function, I think. I normally use MS Edge.

After renaming an element in PowerApps Studio, the browser shows the 'Save password' dialog box, with the new name in the Username box ('rte13a' in this case) and my Office365 password in the password box:

After selecting an element, the Screens/Components Search bar gets filled with a recently-used username that the browser has saved:

this can take two or three clicks on the X button to clear.

I've tried using a different browser (Chrome), and clearing the browser cache, and restarting my machine, all to no avail.

Bizarre, eh? This started happening in the last couple of days. Has there been an update of PowerApps Studio?

Default Time Picker - Working for 'Hour' but not for 'Minute'

Hope you can help, this is driving me mad!

I've got a canvas app connected to an Excel file in OneDrive; we're using it to track when a referral is received into our service, so when a new item is added, we want to form to default to the current date and time.

Here is what everything is set to currenly:

Card Default:

ThisItem.'Referral Time'

[doesn't make a difference if I remove or change this]

Default Date:

Today()

Default value for the Hour picker:

Text(Now(),"[$-en-GB]hh")

Default value for the Minute picker

Text(Now(),"[$-en-GB]mm")

The Date and Hour work just fine, but the Minute picker defaults to '04' no matter what time it is.

I've tried everything I can think of to get it to work, but am completely stumped.

Weighted % of funding calculation

I am trying to get to a weighted % of funding based on multiple criteria, business unit % funding of a project (static, pulling in from a data source), and % of time a person will spend on a project (changes from person to person, text in put). I currently have these set up as gallery's as the number of projects a person works on can change. The projects are selected from a combo box, the gallery then pulls in the project names and has a text input that I want to put in the persons % allocation for that project. I want these numbers to feed into another gallery that shows % of business unit funding based on the % the BU funds and the % of the persons time on the project. Currently it is just weighting based on what input box I have selected and not multiplying by the corresponding project. Any help is appreciated. Below is an example of what I'm looking to achieve.

I have a question that i cant seem to wrap my head around.

I have 2 SP lists in an app that get updated or patched.

The first list I have form that creates a collection getting data from a multi select dropdown that they can also add there own items too. When they submit the form to the first list, I want to pull data from that collection and create/ update items in the second list.

The way I want it updating the second list would be pulling the 'ID' created in the first list patching a column called 'sourceID' in the second list with that value. So if the user choose 1,2,3,4 from the multi select, the second list would be updated with 4 items all with the first lists ID in the 'sourceID' column. I also want those 4 items to get updated with the collection values. So the 4 items would all have the same 'sourceID' but each would have one of the values from the collection.

So, item one in the second list would have 'sourceID' = ID , and the second column would have 1, Item two would have 'sourceID'=ID, and second column would have 2, etc...

I cant seem to wrap my head around the syntax. Any help would be awesome. Also this list will get pretty sizable, so delegation needs to be considered.

Admin Section in a canvas app

Hi everyone!

I was wondering what method you guys would recommend to show or hide items in a navbar.

For example on the home screen in the navbar the link to go to the admin section should only be available to a user that has admin rights.

I've seen things like User().Email In ["mail@something.com", "mail2@something.com] to set the visibility of a button but I'm wondering if you guys know better ways to accomplish this? 🙂

Hello everyone,

I'm struggling to find a way to get these three elements : city, address, postal code, country by longitude and latitude using the Azure Maps (if there is any function that satisfies this) 'cause Bings maps are a paid tool I don't wish to integrate here.. How can I do that please ?

PS: I tried a tip with the bing maps like this : BingMaps.GetLocationByPoint(longitude, latitude).address.countryRegion and I hope there is a similar function that does the same using Azure Map 😕

Help with Popup visibility through variable

I have an app that is used across multiple regions (US, UK, EU, etc...). I need to limit the use of certain parts of the app during specific set times. When I use the code below in the Visible property of the controls, it only allows for people in the US to enter due to the date format for different regions.

I was thinking that I need to adjust the code to:

But receive an error that it expected text. Where am I going wrong? I just need to have it available during these dates and times for users in all regions, regardless of their date/time format.

Send email when new record not created

We have a file note record that we save against an entity. I have been asked to send an email when the last note was over 2 months old asking the user to review an update. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I do this.

I cannot use last updated as it would be a new note and the old note wouldn't change.

DB2 Connector and small text fields.

I have been using the DB2 connector with some success. I have hit one problem, if the text field on the DB2 server (IBMi) has the CCSID = 65535 then Power Apps see these fields as Binary data.

CCSID - Coded Character Set Identifier

We also had this problem when connecting .Net to the IBMi via the Client Access ODBC driver. But this had an option to cover these fields back to text.

Has anyone encountered this problem and been able to overcome it?

Removing from Collection if exists in another collection

Hello,

I have two collections, PlannedVisits and CompletedVisits. What I want to do is remove the visit from the PlannedVisits collection if the visit is in the CompletedVisits collection. Both Collections will have VisitID and LineNumber columns.

I've tried using a ForAll on the PlannedVisits collection and then Filter the CompletedVisits collection and tried a RemoveIf with a filter in the condition, with no success.

I will really appreciate if anyone can let me know how to do this.

App pass auto-assignment process

Hi all,

I'd like to understand the auto-assignment rules for app passes.

I understand these are automatically assigned by the platform as long as there are enough passes in the environment.

I am bascially trying to understand how PowerApps automatically distributes/prioritizes the passes assignment to users.

- When is the pass officially assigned - during the sharing process or during the first app access?

- Can the passe be unassigned if the user does not access the app for a long time?

- Can we reassign pass to match reality (projected users/app shares vs. real users/app access)?

- I do not see any message when trying to share an app even though I don't hav enough passes - when is the control applied and who sees the error message first?

problems copying files from Sharepoint to FTP Server with MS Flow

I have created a flow that supposed to copy a file when created or modified in a Sharepoint folder to a FTP Server. The flow works and connects with the FTP Server but fails to copy the file. The flow returns the following error: Action 'Copy_file' failed "Please make sure the specified path 'http://*****.sharepoint.com/sites/****/Shared Documents/Clients/.....' can be accessed without authorization. Error: '403 FORBIDDEN'. clientRequestedId: .............." On the FTP Server, It returned a 550 error file not found.

Power App/Flow using Pen input to sign various MS Word / PDF documents.

Good day,

With the help of various you tube videos, many thanks to them (links below) I've managed to sign and add fields, populate the data to a word document using flow (Power Automate) and converting them to pdf.

Now I would like to do this for more than one document. For example:
create a library of documents in power apps (documents will be stored in sharepoint/onedrive)>
select a document from the library>
complete (input fields data) and sign the document>
patch data and save pen input image(as per links below>
trigger power Automate and populate the MS Word doc and convert to pdf.

My challenge:
1. How to Power Automate "Populate a Microsoft template" to select the file based on document selected in the power apps library and populate.

2. Not all documents contain the same fields. Will I have to create specific share point lists for each an every document? In the case yes this will also have to be handled in Power Automate, correct?

Please let me know if anyone has done this or have a reference/link that could help me.

Filter records in Calendar Control V2 in Model-Driven

Hello, I have a custom table 'Assignments', here all assignments are related to one technician (1, 2, 3 and 4) and to one type ('placing', 'delivery', 'measuring' and 'after sales service'). 'Technician' and 'Type' are a look up field in the 'Assignments'-table to the custom tables 'Technicians' and 'Assignment Types'. I added the Calendar Control V2 to the View of the 'Assignments'table to show the assignments in a calendar view.

I want to filter the records in this calendar on two possible values: 'technicians' (all, techn 2, techn 2, techn 3 and techn 4) and 'assignment type' (all, 'placing', 'delivery', 'measuring' and 'after sales service').

The standard filter-icon in the top right corner of my model-driven can't be changed without an error while using this CalendarControl. Creating a different view for every occasion wouldn't work as I would need 25 or so views to cover all occasions.

I was looking towards the filter activity-type as used in the standard-table activity (see screenshot). Is there a way I can add this to my custom-table?

Using this CalendarControlV2 the filter icon is still visible, but i would rather not use this as 15+ clicks need to be done te set up this filter. I have a PCF calendar installed as well in my environment, but this doesn't show the filter-icon in model driven.

Patching gallery items to a choice field in a SharePoint list

I'm looking to patch a gallery of items into a choice field on a SharePoint list.

The control I'm using is a combo box with an "Add" button next to it. User types in some text, hits the add button, and it goes into the gallery. When the user is done adding items they hit the submit button which will patch it to the SharePoint list.

I'm binding these items to a collection and trying to use that collection to patch to the SharePoint list. Here's what I've got so far:

The last two blocks "Affected Servers" and "Affected Systems" are the pieces that I'm referring to and can't get to work. I'm getting an error stating:

The type of this argument 'AffectedServer' does not match the expected type 'Table'. Found type 'Record'. The type of this argument 'AffectedSystem' does not match the expected type 'Table'. Found type 'Record'.

I'm not entirely sure why it's throwing this error as 'AffectedServer' and 'AffectedSystem' is part of the previous screen in a form that's being pulled from the SharePoint list, which I'm not referencing at all in this patch.

Compiling PCF on Apple M1

Just got a MacBook Air M1 yesterday, and wanted to see if I could get develop PCF Components on it.

When starting npm start watch, it threw some errors.

First error: Path not accepting undefined.

This was due to process.env.LOCALAPPDATA is not present on MAC.

in node_modules/pcf-scripts/taskRunner.js i added this after line 13: (I could not get this working in a .env file)

process.env.LOCALAPPDATA = process.env.HOME

after this, it still threw a error, this was a little harder to find, but managed to locate a line in

in node_modules/pcf-scripts/tasks/startTask.js line 34

I normally use Fiddler, so it is not a problem for me.

Fiddler Everywhere is supported on the M1 Chip, so I added the bundle.js to autoresponder, and it works.

There is massive performance boost on compile when changing a file compared to my Lenovo P15V.

Model Driven - Action - Add and relate a record of another entity

I am developing a Model Driven application and want to perform a simple operation, i.e., Let's say there are 2 entities, "Employee" and "Employee Details", (Employee *--> many to one related to Employee Details- as there is no 1 to 1 relationship I believe )

I want to have a button ("Create Employee Details") on Employee main form, so that, on click of the button, a Employee Detail record (with empty values) is inserted to the Employee Details table and relate it to the Employee table.

Basically I am trying to capture Employee and Employee Details information using one form.

I am new to power apps but I am willing to consider customization using javascript or by any means if required. What could be a best solution approach for my requirement?

uploading collection contents online

I have to upload the images (and also some form values) into sharepoint.
The ColItemsToKeep are correctly synchronised to the sharepoint list. Even if i have 2 records in the collection, sharepoint is correctly updated with 2 records.

However for the ColImage, sharepoint is updating my site with only the last record.
Both collections however contains all records and photos.

The above are used only when working offline. Items are saved in 2 collections and then via power automate, the items are synchronised to list and sharepoint site.

Collection not retrieving data from SharePoint list

Good day all

I am having an annoying issue with a PowerApp. I have basic SharePoint list with a column called Topic (Choice with a number of choices available for selection). The collection in the app should collect all the topics and then display them without duplicates - I am building an FAQ accordion so the topics will each contain a number of question so topics should only display once.

I have the following formula set on the App OnStart property:

ClearCollect(colTopics,RenameColumns(Distinct(FAQs,Topic),"Result","Topic"));Set(glbTotalTopics,CountRows(colTopics))

When I check Collections to check if it is working, I see the following:

so the results header is correctly adjusted to Topic as per the formula but I do not understand why I am not getting any results - there are a total of 4 distinct Topics in the list.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! This is from the FAQ accordion solution Jamie Willis-Rose presented at Global Con 4 so if anyone has reproduced that successfully and can share how they got this part working, it would be great to know.

Patching record in Sharepoint list only works one time, not repeatedly

Hello,

I have a sharepoint list and built an app to show data and allow the user to change data. I'm not using a form to modify the data (probably making my life harder this way).

When the user selects an item in a gallery I store the record in varRecord. Then they make the changes in any input or selection field. Once done, they can hit save and I patch the data back to the list like below. This all works fine. However, when the user goes back to the same record and makes another change, Powerapps doesn't allow to store that change when I hit save. It also gives an error on the code syntax which isn't there before.

Any suggestion is welcome.

This works:

Can we run Power Automate inside Power Apps Component Library?

Hi,

I have created a Power Apps Component library and inside that I have called a Power Automate Flow to get some information from SharePoint.

When I test this inside the component on the screen, everything is working fine. I can see the results from Power automate.

When I add this component to a Power App after importing the component library, its failing to call the flow.

Component Library -> Screen 1 -> Component -> button -> Power automate (It is working fine)

Power App -> component -> button -> Power automate (It is not working. Power Automate is not triggering in this case)

I think, as the flow belongs to the component, I am not able to run it when I added to the other Power App.

If this is the case, what would be the approach to trigger a flow inside the component to get the details?

Please help me in understanding where I did wrong and the correct approach here. Thank you.

The inputs inside my gallery (data source is my collection “Tätigkeiten”) are Text inputs.

But I want to sum them. So I put text inputs inside my gallery with default property Sum('Input GJ21Q1';'Input GJ21Q2').

But after I have run the app and review its performance it says errors: This value can not be converted into a number because value consists of empty string.

I tried a lot of things like changing from text input to number input. I changed the clear collect function to this:

Powerapp Datacard for SP List Date/Time column to show as dd/mm/yyyy with time

In my SP list Date column is used only on Form View mode and i want to set it as 'en-GB' dd/mm/yyyy time. Since it is visible only on View mode, it is set as View Text when I added the field to the Form.

Currently the Default property is Parent.Default . how do I change it to dd/mm/yyyy time.

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with mobile apps (Power Apps and Dynamics 365 for tablets). I've developed a small app which purpose is to manage all the files that users wants to upload to the Blob. When I open that application in regular browser everything is working fine (mobile, tablet and desktop) and I can select multiple files and upload them with ease. But the problem occurs when I try to do the same thing using mobile apps. I've created IFRAME which is showing the upload app and everything is looking great, but when I try to upload files and the "browse" window is opened I can't select more than 1 record.

Currently we're not using mobile apps because most of the work is related to the images so we're just logging in using a browser where everything is working fine.

We're using model driven app.

Hello Power Users,

Is there any way to create in Power Apps a similar dashboard as attached (first line is the header)? I'm using an Excel spreadsheet as data. Among other columns there are 2 columns Job family and color.

I was able to manually create a gallery for each color (like light green and show the corresponding job title Senior Comp&Ben Specialist EU and Compensation & Benefits Lead) , but I was wondering if this could be done automatically using a condition like: if job family is Coordinator and color is Light green, generate a gallery and show those positions matching the filtering criteria.

Nested objects in collection table

I hope you can help me.

As a result of "Planner.ListTasksV2(id).value" for all Planner plans of our groups, I have a collection with the userIds that are assigned to a task nested in "_assignments". I want to have an own row for each task with one user. For example if one task has three assigned users, I want to get three rows with each title+userId. So I want to "unnest" it. But i don't now, how ich need to write it in PowerApps.

In the collections view, _assignments is shown as an object. I'd like to create a new collection with the tasks and a column for the userId so the task's title and userId together would be like a primary key.

I need to filter the tasks by each userId that is nested in _assignments.

In fact this approach is only a workaround, because the Graph query "GET all Planner tasks for user: https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/users/{id | userPrincipalName}/planner/tasks" doesn't work with another user than my own because of permission issues.

I'm sorry, if I'm too confusing.

App cannot create record and throwing up customerid error

Hi All,

Just dipping my toes in the water with canvas apps and I'm trying to create an app for managing opportunities on dynamics. It's deleting the records without any problems but the issue is with the edit and create records function. It seems that every time I set off the create a record action it throws up the below error:

The problem is that when I add in the customerid field, its just a blank box (it's a GUID field):

If I then hit submit it then throws up this error:

I'm not really sure where to go from here, so any help would be really appreciated!

No existing SQL connections when setting up dataflows

When setting up a new dataflow I cannot select any of the connections that were already set up in my environment.

When I click the refresh icon next to the connections field I see a call being made to get the existing connections.

Now I would expect to at least have the connections of type ("kind") SQL to appear, yet nothing is shown in the drop down list.

Could someone please explain why the existing SQL connections aren't displayed?

Keep session time open indefinitely

As long as the user is authenticated, keep the session open indefinitely so they do not need to go through the sign-in page every time they go to the site

Our users are local users/contacts.

Is this possible?

Probably a simple solution but needing some help please.

I have a gallery, with an Edit button with the following formula on the OnSelect:

EditForm(Form3); Navigate(EditStudent, ScreenTransition.None)

On the EditStudent page, the Form3 has the following formula on the Item:

Gallery2.Selected

I am getting the following error message:

Invalid formula. Expected a value compatible with 'DataSource'.

It was working fine but i then had to add another field into the datasource. this was a single line of text and have added it and refreshed the app, added the new field to the forms and to the gallery but it now no longer works.

Any suggestions on how i can resolve this?

Export Data from Dataverse - Data Missing from Export

I'm having an issue where a field is missing data that is present in dataverse when I use the Export Data Function. I've had a colleague try doing the same thing and the data appears in their export, but is missing in my export.

This is a multiline text field type although doesn't appear to be consistent, as other multiline text fields have output without issue.

Add field in Data table

Hi,

I have an app connected to SharePoint list. I created a new column in SharePoint list and I want to add that new column to the data table in powerapps but apparently I can't see this new column when I went to edit fields. I tried to refresh the datasource but it doesn't work.

One thing that worked is to delete the data table and insert new one but I am avoiding this, since I made a lot of formula in the the table.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you! 🙂

Charts Series Control - adding extra series to my chart...

Dear All,

I am making a Student app. I am using two sharepoint list. Campus and Studentprofile. Campus Sharepoint list, will include the all the campus name. Student Profile list will save all details of students.

I am using custom control and not using Edit form option.

I have student ID text control and i placed a Search Button. When i click on Search button, the record as per the student id box will be fetched from studentprofile sharepoint list and displays rest of the student profile details on the screen.

If the student id not found, the user still can key in the rest of the details and save it to profile list.

The campus details are coming from another sharepoint list called "Campus". the dropdown is set with showing the list of campus from the another list.

In Search button i have set a variable as Set(varStudent, StudentID = text_studentid.Text)

In the Campus drop down box i used a condition as If(IsBlank(varStudent), Distinct(Campus, Name), [varStudent.Campus].Value

I want to show if the student id exists, the dropdown should fetch the detail from profile list else it should should the dropdown items from campus list.

i am not able to do this. any one please help. attaching screenshots.

Hi,

I made a Canvas App with Add Picture control. I upload files to Documents Library (since my Image Lib wasn't listed when making the connection from PowerApps). I want to particularly use Add Picture control.

Everything is working fine with the Camera and the images come to SharePoint Library but when clicking them in the Lib there's a notion: "This image seems not to have a preview image. Download the file."

What should I do?

On Add Picture control there are default settings: nothing changed. Even UseMobileCamera is false.

On Upload Button I have:

I use flow to add the image to the library.

Power Apps SharePoint - Gaps in between fields in the form

I have created a form in Power Apps for a SharePoint list, several of my colleagues are now starting to use the form and have provided feedback that there are two major gaps in the form. For some reason, the gaps for myself come and go. They aren't small gaps either. Halfway and at the bottom of the form, where you need to scroll all the way down until the next field appears.

Does anyone know why I am getting these gaps, why they come and go and how to fix them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My No of Days for leave request app calendar does not work properly. IT does not show the proper number. Leave date is April 20 and Return date is 22 April. It should show 2 days but rather 172800000. Also, how do I make Saturday and Sunday as public holiday and if leave is taken on the same day for example leave date is April 20 and return date is April 20, how to make it 0.5?

Table 2: Customer_Name, date_Contract, Customer_Id
I need to update the Customer_Id field of the whole table 2 by crossing the Customer_Name of both tables.

The tables are in Sharepoint Lists and have more than 2000 matches.

Is there a simple way to copy entity data and webpage setting to other environments?

Hi everyone,

I have 2 environments, 1 production env and 1 sandbox env(full copy of production).

The sandbox is used to create some new web pages or make some tests for unreleased functions.

If everything works, I will copy the entity data and webpage setting from sandbox into production env.

I knew that it's possible to copy entity through solution, but it's hard to use, each time there will be an error, said that "some dependencies are missing".

And web page settings can't be included, either.

Someone also recommended "Migration Tool", which seems can only include entity and often faced issues during import.

Aside from the 2 methods, any other simple ways to copy entity data and webpage settings?
