Hi there,
is it/when will it be possible for AI Builder to detect signatures, handwriting and checkboxes (both square and circle-shaped) in a PDF document?
Thank you,
Hi,
Handwriting is already supported but the accuracy may vary depending on the quality of the writing.
Signature is in our radar but not planned yet.
Regarding checkbox, we are tentatively targeting the October timeframe.
Hello @CedrickB
Following up on this....
Attached is a sample exerpt from the template file. Please let me know if the AI model will be able to read the checkbox and comments from the highlighted fields. The template file will be a 20 page pdf document that will have maybe 50 fields in the form with either text and checkboxes just like the attachment.
Ultimately, the goal is to setup a workflow to extract data from thousands of PDF files and save it to excel/sharepoint using Power Automate, then use Power BI to run the analyses and present the info on a dashboard 🙂
Thanks for your help in advance!
Unfortunatelly, based on customer feedback, we have changed our priorities to focus on improving table extraction, multiple layout support and invoice processing prebuilt instead.
Checkbox support will not come before Q2 2021 and checkboxes in tables will likely not be supported.

This shows September 2021 for General Availability for Signature Processing.
Yes, this is the plan so far for signature detection but it is subject to changes.
What is the tentative plan for signature detection? Would the signature be copied/stored as an image or would the model/engine try to figure out the signature value.
