Can you use form processing on an email?

I'd like to build a flow that does some form processing when a new email arrives. I've trained my model, but I can't figure out the mimeType to use in my Predict payload (if it's even possible).

Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks.

Re: Can you use form processing on an email?

Hi @ac1drain,

Supported mimeTypes are currently:

image/jpeg for jpeg images.

application/pdf for PDF files.

If you use the Outlook trigger, you can also retreive the mimeType of the attachment by using the Attachment Content-Type property as you can see in the screenshot.

Re: Can you use form processing on an email?

Hi @JoeF-MSFT ,

Do you know if we can apply the form processing flow to a OneDrive folder which contains multiple PDF files?

Thanks,

Dan

Re: Can you use form processing on an email?

Hi @a-dazhu,

Absolutely! There are two ways:

  • The first one is you can use the When a file is created trigger from the OneDrive connector, if you want that every time you add a new file to a OneDrive folder, trigger a flow to do form processing.
  • The second one, if you have already files in a OneDrive folder you would like to do form processing, you can create an instant flow that is manually triggered and then add the action List files in folder of the OneDrive connector, then add the Get file content action and then the form processing action.

Happy to provide more guidance if needed.

Hi @JoeF-MSFT ,

Thanks so much for helping on this. I use the second solution you recommended. Please see below screenshot for my flow.

I got bad input error message in Predict action. Not sure what's the problem.

Re: Can you use form processing on an email?

Hi @a-dazhu,

You will need to use the following expression as shown on the screenshot:  base64(outputs('Get_file_content')?['body'])

Let us know if this works!

Hi @JoeF-MSFT ,

I got below error before the flow got to Predict step. I tested OneDrive path, which works fine. Not sure what's the problem.

Re: Can you use form processing on an email?

Hi @a-dazhu,

Are you still facing this issue? If so, try to recreate the connection to OneDrive.

If you are still facing this issue, can you share a screenshot of that flow step?

Thank you.
