GPT Action missing in AI Builder

Hi All,

I created a development environment recently, activated the community plan and enabled the AI Builder trial and can see all the actions except the GPT action. I have the environment created in the United States region and still the action is missing.

Can you please suggest if I am missing something. @JoeF-MSFT @plarrue @Ashbhatia tagging for help as I am in the middle of the ongoing MS Power Platform AI Hackathon and have hit this snag after covering some good ground in the implementation and now left wandering  with this roadblock.

Thanks in advance !

Hi @Antoine2F

Thanks for the response. However after adding the Power Apps 1 month trial, AI Builder credits popped up in the tenant and I assigned 2000 credits to the US dev environment as shown below. But still , the GPT action is not listed. However if I import a flow with GPT action from another tenant(which has AI Credits), it allows me to copy the GPT action to clipboard and use it in other flows as needed. This workaround was not possible before the addition of the premium trial license. But the major blocker still is that, the GPT action is not natively coming up despite I having the AI credits(Premium 1 Month trial gives us 25 user accounts, hence 25 * 500 = 12500 credits).

Do you need to activate something in admin center? Atleast Copilot feature needs to be activated there.

Hello,

In order to use 'Generate Text with GPT' action, you need paid AI Builder credits available in your environment. They won't be consumed (as this action is still in Preview), but they need to exist and be available to your environment. These credits can come from an AI Builder add-on, or a premium Power Apps or Power Automate license. (eg : Power Apps Premium license comes with 500 AI Builder credits)

Access to 'Generate Text with GPT' action is not allowed with a simple AI Builder trial.

Hi @Antoine2F  ,

As I understand, the procurement of PA Premium license will ideally pool the Credits at tenant level and would that be enough or should I make any environment specific configurations or assigning the Premium license to the user who will be using the GPT action ? Asking because , wanted to know if other users will also be able to make use of the GPT action for testing it out with just one PA Premium license procurement at tenant level.

Also , I enabled the Power Apps Premium 1 month trial license. Will it help in enabling the GPT action through the available AI Builder credits ? Just enabled it a while back, dont see the GPT action still in the list of action in AI Builder.

Update :

Assigned the AI Builder Credits received from the Power Apps Premium TRIAL license to the US environment but still, the GPT action seems missing in AI Builder

Thanks In Advance

Hi Rajesh,

Yes, the purchase of Power Apps premium license will be enough: it will bring credits at tenant level, and by default, all environment can use the tenant level (unassigned) credits. You can also assign these credits to a particular environment if you want to restrict the use of AI Builder actions to this environment, but that's optional.

Once acquired, AI Builder credits are for all users, so every user will be able to use GPT actions even if you purchase a single license.

Power Apps premium 1 month trial license doesn't provide any AI Builder credit so that won't be enough.

I hope this helps.

Hi Rajesh,

Can you please share your tenantId by sending an email to aihelpen@microsoft.com with a reference to this discussion?

It may be that the credits provided by trial are not recognized as paid credits (which is effectively the case) when displaying the actions in Flow editor but I need to check.
