The object detector does not work correctly with symbols of an electrical diagram ¿Why?

I want to make a simple app in which if I put an electrical diagram the system recognize and count how many devices there are of each type. This is an example  of electrical diagram:

And the system should return this information:
Circuit breakers 2 poles 10 amps           3 units
Circuit breakers 2 poles 16 amps           2 units.
Earth-leakage protection 2/40/30          2 units.

I have made a model with Power Apps and trained it with 43 photos of different 16 amp 2 pole breakers (because there are different ways to draw them) and I am surprised that the model is unable to recognize it.

What do you recommend to me?
It seems easy.... But doesn't work.

Can you share the results you got that will help providing recommendations.

Hi CedrickB, thanks for answering.
What kind of results do you need?
Examples of how it does not recognize or recognizes poorly?
Or do you want me to share the model with you?

I would need to understand how you have tagged the objects in the images during training, which objects, how many samples, what response you get when you test it with some picture?

Ideally screenshots will help.

Thank you

Hello CedrickB
I attached a file with a short description of the problem.
I hope it will be useful for you to give me some advice.

Thanks again for answering!! 🙂

Ok, I got it.

I don't think the object detector is the right model for your use case.

This model is great to identify objects not symbol with text.

So it could allow to count how many of below symbol are in the picture.

Though, you will be missing the important information which is the type.

I would rather use a simple Text Recognition model and then apply the following logic in Power Automate or Power Apps:

Set variable "All components" with type "array"

Set variable "Temp components array" with type "array"

For each page of results

For line of in the current page

For each text of in the current line

If text is "I.MAG.II" or "I.MAG.IV" or any other searched electrical component

                 Add to array "Temp components array" value {"component":above text}

Else if text is "16 A" or "32 A" or any other amper value

                Add property to "Temp components array"[0] value {"amper":above text}

Add "Temp components array"[0] to "All components"

Remove "Temp components array"[0] from "Temp components array"

Let me know if this is working.

Hi CedrickB
Thanks again for answering!!

Now I need time to study how to program what you have indicated, because I haven't programmed for many years.
I'm watching tutorials to learn how to program in power apps.
As soon as I learn, I'll let you know if the solution has worked.

If you know any tutorial that explains what you tell me to do, I would appreciate it if you could send me the link 😉

Oh my goodness!
It works perfect!
You are the number one!
I'm going to work on customizing it but it's fantastic, just what I wanted.

Thank you very much!
