A Flow that checks the status of a planner task

Hey Everyone,

I need help creating a flow that will check the status of my tasks in microsoft planner and then sending specific emails depending on their status. Also if the tasks is complete, I would like to update a sharepoint list item.

Is this something that is possible?

Hi @jortizfr5195,

Yes, this is achievable.

But there are a few points in your needs that are not clear.

Q1: "check the status" refers to checking whether the task has been completed?

Q2: Is it only checking the assignment of your own task?

Q3: If you only check the assignment of your own task, then the mail seems to only need to be sent to yourself.

Q4: update the details of the list item, what needs to be used in the task

For the content you currently provide, the Flow configured for you is roughly as follows. If it is consistent with your needs, you could use it for reference:

Use the List my task to get all the tasks assigned to yourself.

Use Filter array to get the uncompleted task, if the value Completed by is empty, then use Select to select the field you want to view.

Create a Html table and send it as the body of the email.

Use Apply_to_each to traverse the completed task and update the item.

Please take a try.

Or provide more details about you requirements.

Hi @v-bacao-msft

Thanks for the reply.

To answer your questions:

Q1: "check status" does indeed refer to checking if the task has been completed.

Q2 + Q3: I was hoping to check the status of ALL of the tasks within the planner and email the person the task is assigned to accordingly.

Q4: Im a bit confused by this point.

Hi Barry,

This is really helpful. How to include tasks that are with the status 'In Progress' along with the email for this?

Also looking for a way to include the status into a Flow, have you had any luck @Harisriram @jortizfr5195

The 'value' mentioned under Filter Array is the one you should use to include the status in the Flow.
