A series of contingent events

Hi everyone. I'm relatively new to PA and learning on the job, so my apologies if this is a simple question that I am missing. I'm looking to create a series of events that are contingent on the date of the 1st event (which I will manually set up).

My organisation runs 10 and 15 week cycles and I'm looking to build a flow that creates 5 "check point events" during those cycles, however the only way I can work it out at the moment is to manually input all the dates. I feel like I'm missing something very simple. The flow would basically be: Manually set up an event -> event #2 triggered X days from event #1 -> event #3 triggered X days from event 2 etc...

Hope someone can help and save me some much needed time over the holiday period.

Thanks,

Hi @MattKinh :

Do you want to create multiple events at the same time?

  • 15 days between the start time of the second event and the first event
  • 5 days between the start time of the third event and the second event

If so ,please try this flow:

Reference Expression:

1\addDays(triggerBody()['date'],15)

2\addDays(triggerBody()['date_1'],15)
3\addDays(triggerBody()['date'],20)
4\addDays(triggerBody()['date_1'],20)

Hi @MattKinh :

Do you want to insert time intervals between events?

The point is to use Delay action.For example:

Thanks a lot but that isn't exactly what I want. I understand that the above solution will create an event x days after the 1st event is created?

I am trying to create all the events at once, but automate the creation of the events so that I don't have to manually enter the start and end date for each event. So that if I make an event on Jan 1st, it automatically makes 2nd event on jan 15th, 3rd event on jan 20th.... but if I make the first event on jan 5th it makes second event on Jan 20th and 3rd on Jan 25th.
