Action items in Excel and Planner

Are there templates or does flow have the ability to create a new card in Planner for every row in an excel sheet? I track action items via excel, but my team likes the user friendly interface of Planner. Can I link the two together?

Re: Action items in Excel and Planner

Hi @rct224,

Do you want to create a task in Planner for each row of an excel file?

I have made a test on my side and please take a try with the following workaround:

  • Add a proper trigger, here I use Flow Button trigger.
  • Add a "Get rows" action, specify File Name and Table Name.
  • Add a "Apply to each", input parameter set to output of "Get rows" action.
  • Within "Apply to each", add a "Create a task" action.

The flow works successfully as below:23.JPG

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Action items in Excel and Planner

Hi Kris,

Is there any way to have both the excel file and plan options to be user-defined. This way the trigger prompts dialog box to select the excel file, and then the Create a Task prompts you to select which Plan to use.

Thanks,

Ennio
