Add to collection from Respond to PowerApps Action returning JSON

I am working with the Respond to PowerApps Action in Flow. I would like to return some data to a PowerApp and store the data in a collection.

If I have a JSON payload such as the following:

[
  { "Country": "France", "City": "Paris" },
  { "Country": "England", "City": "London" },
  { "Country": "Italy", "City": "Rome" }
]

I can send this data back to the PowerApp using the Respond to PowerApps action and it will return the data as follows:

{ "countrydata": "[{\"Country\":\"France\",\"City\":\"Paris\"},{\"Country\":\"England\",\"City\":\"London\"},{\"Country\":\"Italy\",\"City\":\"Rome\"}]" }

Is there an easy way to get this data into a collection? Or would it be best to create a standalone Flow and wrap it in a Custom Connector?

Hi @jimz88,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow's configuration?

Do you want to put the JSON data from Microsoft Flow into a collection within PowerApps app?

I have made a test on my side, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently. PowerApps app only support processing string data returned from Microsoft Flow currently.

If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:

More details about returning data to PowerApps from a flow, please check the following article:

Best regards,

Kris

Just to update this, the Response action within Flow allows you to return a JSON payload back to a PowerApp. This is demonstrated rather well by @mrdang - https://youtu.be/K_H5r0nzwy4
