Adding a comment to a DevOps Work Item using a given user

In Flow, I am using a DevOps - Update Work Item action, that updates a work item and adds a comment to it, using the Other Field "history" as the content of the comment. The problem is that the author is set to be the owner of the connection that the action is using, yet since the flow is triggering using an email, the author needs to be set dynamically using the email's author (provided he has an account in DevOps). How can I do this? Is there another name in "other fields" section, perhaps something like "Author" that I can use to set the author of the comment given the name, email or id from the email that started the flow?

The trigger is an email arriving, the formatted body is the "output" seen in

Re: Adding a comment to a DevOps Work Item using a given user

Hi @eduardoceanmind ,

The connection of Flow action is created based on a personal account. If the current user configures the Update item action, the author of the added comment will be the user who configures the connection.

I am afraid there is currently no good way to solve this problem. Please consider adding tags to Comments, like: Comment by Email Sender.

Thanks for the reply. Is there no way to do it with a HTTP request action item instead?

Re: Adding a comment to a DevOps Work Item using a given user

I had the same issue. I just did the workaround since HTTP was not working for me. I just created Service Account User in Azure DevOps and added DevOps connector using service account. Then when message was sent it was sent using service account and not my name.
