Adding a folder to a Sharepoint location for an opportunity in Dynamics

All I want to do is add a folder to the Sharepoint Document location when I create an opportunity.

If I try to just look up the location, I cannot seem to pick the right "item identifier".

I thought the actual Opportunity GUID would work.  But alas not.

Do I need to get something else before I can do this step.

Also if instead I go to Create a record, and again choose Document Location, I have many more options.

The only issue here is I cannot get the folder to show up under the opportunity record.   What should go in the "regarding url" field for an Opportunity?  Is it the topic?

Re: Adding a folder to a Sharepoint location for an opportunity in Dynamics

Hi @colbournescott,

If you want to get the record of the dynamic entity, you should use the item identifier.

Do you want to access a particular record or a record with a particular condition? If you want to get the record with a particular condition, you can use the List records action with the OData filter query - columnName eq "value".

The issue gets the folder to show up under the opportunity record, do you mean to find the folder in SharePoint to store the record?

Re: Adding a folder to a Sharepoint location for an opportunity in Dynamics

That is awesome thank you @v-litu-msft .

Sorry for asking another question.  Once I have listed the opportunity - which worked well thanks to your answer, I need to get the folder location or ID.

Can you please assist with what goes in here?

I cannot seem to work out how I get the document location.

Re: Adding a folder to a Sharepoint location for an opportunity in Dynamics

Hi @colbournescott,

I do not quite understand your requirements, did you store data of opportunity in the Document Location entity to connect them, then you want to get the record of the Document Location which associated with the opportunity?

This is my Flow configuration according to my speculation:

ColumnName eq 'value' to find the associated record in Document Location.

Re: Adding a folder to a Sharepoint location for an opportunity in Dynamics

Sorry if my process is not clear.

The steps are:

  1. Create an opportunity (this is the trigger for Flow)
  2. From this opportunity - get the Sharepoint location associated with it. i.e. "opp name"_"GUID of Opp" (from what I can tell this is not created automatically and I need to use the List records action)
  3. Copy a folder from Sharepoint to this Opportunity Sharepoint location

Here is what I have so far.

flow opp sharepoint folder.JPG

It gives an error on the "copy folder" step regarding the destination folder not existing (Destination folder path not set).

But I do not think there is a folder being created in my flow.  I say this because when I run an advance find in Dynamics for the Document Location the folder does not exist.  Therefore my flow is not creating it.

Can you please help?
