Adding an all-day SharePoint Calendar Item date

I'm building a flow to automatically add an event to a SharePoint Online calendar list that is an all-day event whose date is pulled from another SharePoint list column (formatted as date only) on the same SPO site.

I have a SharePoint list with a due date. When the item is created, I would like a new event to be created on the calendar list that uses the previous list's due date as the new all-day event date.

The flow I currently have creates an item on the calendar list, but only for the current date. What am I doing wrong?

Here's my flow:

Re: Adding an all-day SharePoint Calendar Item date based on a date column from another list

@CWilhoyte:

Unfortunately, you cannot create a true "add day event" in a SharePoint calendar using the SharePoint connector unless you call SharePoint web services using the Send HTTP Request to SharePoint action.  You can't get there using Create Item.

Serve Luca has written a blog post or two on calling SharePoint web services from Flow.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I have no idea what this means or how to do this. I checked the link you gave me and didn't find anything specific to my question.

I'm looking at the Send an HTTP request to SharePoint action and I have the following questions:

Send HTTP.png

  • Does this go before or after the item creation step in my original post?
  • What Method should I use?
  • What is Uri? What should I enter?
  • Do I need headers? If so, what values?
  • What JSON should I enter in Body?
  • Is this the last step? What do I add afterwards as an action or condition to post the event?
