Adding text to an email ID

Hi with MS forms we are collecting peoples unique email ID but if fails to put on the email address extension for example

Email ID is 12345 and what to add @gmail to that email ID so when the form is submitted it would send an email to that user as dynamically it would fail with only email id

Thanks

Hi @mezcalbean ,

can you show the input of the "Send an email" action?

Expressions should work fine to add the extension. Please post the expression you are currently using?

This should work:

concat(outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/<NAME OF THE FORM FIELD>'],'@gmail.com')

Regards,

Leo

Hi @mezcalbean ,

Could you please post a screenshot of your flow? How do you get the unique ID? Do you use the meta data from the form or is it a field in the form, which users need to fill in? Is this an anonymous form?

You can simply use a non-anonymous form. Then the email of the user is available in the "Responder" output of the "Get response details" action.

HI Leo, thank you for replying.

The form is submitted by a manger on their staffs behalf, they put the "MailNickname" as this is used widely here. It make it very easy to email and reference people, it is also used as a login to all the computers.

My plan was to add the extension of @gmail to the MailNickname" to send the email using expression.

thanks
