Approval Comments Causes Multiple Emails (Apply to Each)

Hi everyone!

This is my first post. I did some research and digging, but couldn't find a post that matched what I've got. If it exists, please direct me that way!

I'm building a flow that requires multiple approvers. I've got Start an Approval with multiple people—let's say four approvers for this example—set to "Everyone". This is followed by a condition based on their response.

If the Approvers approve, Flow will make a Trello card. If any of the Approvers reject, then the requestor receives an email. Here's where the problem starts: I want to include Comments left by the approvers in either scenario.

When I add Comments from the Approval to either the Create a Trello Card or Send an Email module, it automatically adds an Apply to Each module around them. This results in the flow creating four Trello cards or four rejection emails (one for each Approver) when I only need one (card/email) per scenario. I've tried a few different Compose and Concatenate functions with no success; they seem to come up blank when the Approval outputs multiple items for comments.

How do I show all four Approvers' comments in one card/email?

Re: Approval Comments Causes Multiple Emails (Apply to Each)

Hi NickC,

Please try to use the action “Create HTML table” in your flow. This action will enable you send emails that contain a full list of all of the items from a previous step.

your flow could be configured to something likes below:

Please have a try with it.

More details about HTML tables, please check this blog at here:

Re: Approval Comments Causes Multiple Emails (Apply to Each)

Hi Mabel,

I added the HTML table module to my flow; it successfully generated an HTML table as expected. The HTML table appears perfect in the subsequent email, but Trello shows the raw HTML without formatting.

I tried using the "Convert HTML to Plain Text" module with inconsistent results. Instead, I've had to add a series of Compose modules to strip the HTML tags from the table and get plain text.

This is doing the trick for now, but I would love to see a more simple/elegant solution.
