Approval E-Mail to Fire and Way to Cancel Approval Action
I have a fairly simple approval workflow and what happens is I have it set-up so that when someone uploads a file the approval doesn’t start until a category is selected. Also I am accounting for if the item has not been already approved.
One if the requirements is to have a back-up approver but they are to not receive an approval e-mail so what I have done is turned on the OOTB approval in the document library to allow this individual to approve by selecting the file – clicking more -> approval/reject then approved when needed.
However, by doing this I need to know how to do 2 items in my workflow:
A way to get the uploader of the file an approval e-mail when an item is approved by the back-up approver.
A way to cancel an approval action that's underway to account for the back-up approval through a different means which in my case is the OOTB approval.
