I have noticed that the Approvals request Action allows the use of Markdown https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/flow/approvals-markdown-support
However this markdown does not appear to be working in the emails that are sent to the Approval person.
It does however appear to be working in the approvals section in flow (Power Automate)
Is there a way to fix this so that the emails don't look so ugly and have some form of formatting?
Unfortunately, when you're using the out of the box alerts they're pretty fixed in terms of how they look and feel. What I have done in the past though, is manage the approval process myself. So rather than use the Start and Wait for Approval, I will create an approval, perform the necessary notifications, and then wait for the response to come in.
In my email, I have included all of the content that I would want such a the description, a link to the item etc. I can't replicate the response buttons, but I can provide a link to the page in the Approval Center where the item can be approved.
Finally, I need to make sure that I use the Wait for approval action in order to make the flow wait for a response to be submitted.
I hope that helps

The flow approval emails come from external, make sure your organisation are not using a service such as mimecast, trendmicro, symantec etc that will rewrite url and other parts of the email.
this often breaks actionable email messages, and likely to be breaking the markdown, hence why you can see it fine in the flow portal.
