Approval email response not being sent

I have an approval process that is kicked off from a SharePoint Online List.

Everything works fine and the approval email gets sent according to the persons Manager.

However, when the Manager Approves or Rejects the email and Submits it from within the email, it appears as though it has worked but no email gets sent to the person requesting the approval.

I also have it setup so the response and comments are populated back into the SharePoint List and this does not work either.

This was working last week and i've not changed anything except for email content.

Would Outlook's settings be causing this?

Hi @Glen71 ,

It is an expected behavior since the email wouldn't sent automatically, if you want to send the result to the requestor, you need to add a send an email action under the approval action in your flow.

Wow! Very fast response @v-alzhan-msft! It's greatly appreciated!

I do have a send email action further below in the Flow.

If it helps anyone, i was able to determine what the problem was. I had a timeout set for 4 hours on the "Wait for an approval" step because i was testing but i had it as "P4H" because the example in Flow is "P1D". In reality, I want it to time out after 2 days so changed it to "P2D" but it was still failing so gave "PT48H" a crack (see below) and lo and behold it started working again. I'll just forgo the timeout test for the time being.

So, my Flow is now working but thanks for you help!

Cheers

Glen
