Approvals Action: Create simple connection failed - Error

We are experiencing some problems with the Power Automate application, more specifically with the Approvals Connection.

To give some context, we have created a two-step validation process where two parties have to approve a specific project (a record which is stored in a SharePoint database).

The process was running smoothly for over 2 months but since last week we noticed that one action, the Approvals (Start and wait for an approval), stopped working and is causing the Power Automate flow to crash/not work. Error message:

We think that the main issue we face in the Approvals action is that we are unable to connect the right connection to it. It keeps on connecting to ‘approvals’, instead of a specific account ( like before:

We are unable the make a connection to this action:

I’ve already rebuilt the flow, tried exporting and importing the flow and removed the connection in the ‘connections’ tab (Data > Connections) in Power Automate. But nothing worked.

Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue?

Could it be a general problem on the side of Microsoft?

Thank you in advance,

Kind regards,

HI @janvdbj

I got an issue similar to this when my organization enabled 2-factor authentication in the accounts. All connections were invalidated, and I needed to re-connect them. Can you please try to go to your Connections and re-connect to one and try if that works? You'll be asked to authenticate using the 2-factor authentication, and the connection should work from then.

Hi @manuelstgomes,

Thank you for your answer.

I've tried to add a new Connection:

But as you can see above, it keeps on connecting to the "Approvals" and not to my personal e-mail, like before.
As a result, the same error message keeps on showing:

All the best,

Hi @janvdbj

Try checking if there are more connections, for some reason, in the Flow. Tap the ... and see if there's other entries there.

I'm running into this same issue.  Exactly as Jan described above.  If I tap on the ... within a flow, it looks like this:

When I click on the Add new connection, I get this:

The reason I am running into this issue is because I tried to replace a flow using my credentials with a service account.  Any ideas?

Never mind, I figured it out.  I had to go and manage all of the connections and completely remove them.  Then I was prompted when I edited the flow to add a new connection and it went through fine.
