Assign Task to person inside for loop

I want to create a new task based on selections from a multi choice field. I have a for loop and inside that for loop it's creating tasks based on those selections. I also want to assign the task to a person based on the loop value. I'm not able to get to the address book for a person. I can see distribution lists and security groups but not people.

I'm not sure how to assign to a person.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Assign Task to person inside for loop

HI @Raritan,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow's configuration?

Could you please show a bit more about your multi Choice field? Is it a Choice type column in SharePoint list?

Further, which task do you create in your flow?

I suppose that there is a Choice type column with multiple selections in your SharePoint list, is it true? In addition, I assume that there is a Person or group column in your SharePoint list and you want to create Planner tasks on your side. I have created a SharePoint list on my side and the data structure of it as below:1.JPG

Note: Type of Task is a Choice type column with multiple selections, Executor is a Person or group type column.

I have made a test on my side and please take a try with the following workaround:

  • Add a "When an item is created" trigger.
  • Add a "Apply to each", input parameter set to Type of Task dynamic content of the trigger.
  • Within "Apply to each" action, add a "Create a task" action of Planner connector, specify Planner Id and Assigned User Id field set to Executor Email dynamic content of the trigger.

Image reference:2.JPG

Note: Type of Task is a Choice type column with multiple selections and Executor is a Person or group type column.

The flow works successfully as below:3.JPG

If I misunderstand your scenario, please reply here and I would provide a proper workaround for you.

Best regards,

Kris
