Attaching files to Approval

Hi Guys,

Trying to create a flow which allows a spreadsheet to be approved.  It requires a multiple layered approval by different approvers.  Is there anyway to attached the spreadsheet file to the approval?

Also, the spreadsheet file changes every time there is a change within the organisation then gets sent round for approval.  This is currently a manual process and trying my best to make it electronic. Not sure if this is the best approach, any idea would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @caitlin3096,

You could refer to this Flow create according to your requirements. It seems like you want to create a sequential approval, so I suggest you could store these Approver Email Addresses into an array, or if it already exists in a list, you no need to do it.

  1. Then create an Apply to each action to send approval to each approver in order.
  2. Before creating the approval, get content of the Excel file, then put the Excel content into the approval;
  3. After one approver responded, put information into the Excel file;
  4. There need to add a delay, because an excel file will be blocked after an edit.

Hi @caitlin3096

You can check out this post on how you can add attachments to approvals: https://www.bythedevs.com/post/how-to-add-multiple-attachments-on-approval-actions-in-power-automate

After every approval action you can add a get file content action so that the file content is latest.

Hope this Helps!
