Attachment with dots save to OneDrive without dots and as Excel file

I am trying to create a flow to place a file on the OneDrive.

However, there will also be attachments with points / punctuation marks in the attachment name.

So I want to filter out the points and then save the file again with the same name but without the points.

On the basis of this post and the Blog  (thanks to AlansPS1) we succeeded in saving an attachment without the points.

Now I want to integrate that part into an existing flow as shown below.

However, the file name now remains to be saved with dots.

So there are still errors in it, but I can't figure out where and how to solve it.

Re: Attachment with dots save to OneDrive without dots and as Excel file

Hi @frixel ,

I have figured out the following flow for your scenario to create an email attachment to OneDrive folder.

Please check the following images.

Function used in Initialize variable3 is:

createArray('.','@','ß','²','³','µ','`','´','°','^','=','(',')','&','$','§', '~','#','%','*',':','<','>','?','/','|',' ')

Function used in Set variable 2 is:

replace(variables('filename'),items('Apply_to_each_2'),'')

The condition will be used to check if the attachment name contains xlsx. You could add more conditions with .XLSX, .xls, .XLS.

The function used in Compose action is:

replace(variables('FileName'),'xlsx','.xlsx')

Then in the create file action, select the compose output for the File name field.

Best regards,

Mabel

Re: Attachment with dots save to OneDrive without dots and as Excel file

Hi @frixel ,

The image cannot be checked clearly.

In the last action Create file, what are the dynamic contents used in the File name field?

I assume that only the returned variables should be used at here, while it seems another dynamic content from previous action is added as well. Please remove it to see if it will work.

Best regards,

Mabel

Re: Attachment with dots save to OneDrive without dots and as Excel file

Hi.

Apologies for the bad screens, I have now adjusted them.

I also adjusted in the "create file" but the problem still remains.
There was indeed an attachment name too many.

However, the attachment name is still stored with dots in the file name.
