Automate Status Update Post Modification for Approved/Rejected Documents

I have utilised the “Request approval in Teams for a selected item in SharePoint” automate template. I have manually added a status column that tracks the progress (For approval, Approved, Rejected).  This is working  fine.

However, when a user modifies an Approved/Rejected document, I want the status column to change back to draft. I catered for this by creating a second flow. An automated flow using the trigger "when an item is created and modified" , added a condition that if the status is equal to Approved/Rejected then update file properties ( update Status field to "Draft")

My problem is when the approval workflow updates the status to Approved/Rejected... it then triggers my second flow which converts it back to draft status ?  When I would actually only what the second flow to trigger, when its modified for the first time post approval/rejection.

Business Requirement: When a user modifies an Approved/Rejected document then the status should be updated to Draft.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,

If you set up your Flow to trigger "When a Sharepoint item is create or modified" It will trigger every time that happens. You could add a few conditions to terminate the Flow early but it will have to be based on something. What you need is another field to check to see how many times its been modified and its been modified more then twice it will skip the flow run.

Regards,

Alex
