Best Practices when using connections that require Shared Access Signature (SAS) Tokens

Hi Flow Community,

We are currently developing a set of flows that use the Publish to Event Grid action.  The connection to Azure Event Grid takes a Shared Access Signature  (SAS) token to access event grid.  Microsoft suggests refreshing the SAS token on a regular basis for security practices.  If we do this, it looks like the connections to Event Grid will fail until we enter in a new SAS token.  This is not ideal.  Does anyone have experience with this situation?

  1. Is my understanding right?  Will our connections fail if the SAS token is regenerated?
  2. Is there a way flow can get the updated SAS token?
  3. Is there any other best practices involving flow and SAS tokens?

Thank you in advance!

Josh

Re: Best Practices when using connections that require Shared Access Signature (SAS) Tokens

Hi @joshbrownwsna ,

About #1, a potential risk when using SAS is that if the application is unable to retrieve a new SAS from your service, then the application’s functionality may be hindered. So the connection using SAS will be failed and need you to update the SAS token.

About #2, I am afraid that it is not possible to get the updated SAS token. Please submit your request on Flow Ideas Forum:

About #3, if you are familiar with Custom APIs, you may consider extending flow’s functionalities with custom codes. Here are docs for your reference:

Best regards,

Mabel
