Building Send Email Reminder from SharePoint List Date Field

I am attempting to build a Send Email reminder trigged by date column that equals today’s date from a Sharepoint list.




I was able to get the flow to work and send an email when I manually entered in my own email address (for testing purposes). However, when I switched the TO line over to “Assigned To Email,” Power Automate automatically added a second "apply to each" with current item causing an error when I test the flow.



Here is the error I am getting.




I am new to using Power Automation. In fact, this is the first time I have ever used the program. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Can you please remove the "Assigned to Email" from the "Send an email" action, and if it's possible also remove both "apply to each" (when you remove the "Assigned to Email" you can just move the email action out of the apply to each), so that you have only your "SharePoint - Get items" and then your "Send an email" action. After this, add your dynamic value "Assigned to Email" again to the "To" field. You should only have one apply to each now (for each item that matches the filter query and is returned). This should work better.

Is your Assigned To column a Person and Group type and allows multiple selections?

If yes, please take a try to add a string variable to store the email then fill the To field in Send an email action use the variable.

Thank you for posting a possible solution. I was able to get Power Automate to set up the email, but ran into another error.

Here is how I have it set up now:

The assigned to in the sharepoint list for this test is my email address and the manager's I am working on this project with. It is acting like I am not connected to my email system but it is reporting that I am connected.

Hey @lper 

your "To" field contains the whole SharePoint column "Assigned to" which not only contains the mail address, but also other informations like Claims, Displayname etc. Please remove the "Assigned to" from the "to" field and check again your dynamic content, there should be a value called "Assigned to email". Please use this, try again. If it still fails, please share a screenshot of the input (of course black out the mail addresses).

I was able to get the string variable to work but ran into another error. It is acting like it cannot see our email addresses. I only have it pulling mine and the manager working on this project.

I do really appreciate your help. Each time I go to add "Assigned to Email" Power Automate automatically adds the Apply to each 2. When I delete everything back to the Get Item and add the send an email, PA does allow me to select "Assigned to Email" only "Assigned To"



When I click on "Assigned To" this is what it looks like:


At this point PA allows me to delete the "Assigned to" and select the "Assigned to Email" dynamic but then PA adds the second apply to each level.



If I try to run the flow this is the error I get. The same error I was originally getting.
