Building a custom approval flow for sharepoint subfolders

Hi All,

I'm trying to create an approval flow for a set of documents added to an individual folder within a Sharepoint site.  The overview of Sharepoint structure is:

  • 3 Main Folders (A, B, C)
  • Users create a subfolder within those 3 main folders (1, 2, 3 etc.);
    • Therefore, the folders could end up being: A1, A2, A3....B1, B2, B3...C1, C2, C3 etc.
  • Users add documents within each individual project folder (A1, A2, etc.)
  • Once the documents are ready, user can trigger an approval flow

The individual subfolders (A1, A2, A3) are always unique (ie. new folder) for each time a user has a project (users may've multiple projects; ie. multiple folders).

Any help in getting this going would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @kshah52 ,

Sorry, I can't understant your purpose clearly.

Is there a set of documents that you want to add them to different subfolders?

How to judge adding which file to which foler, by file name? or file Type?

What's the mean of 'Once the documents are ready', does it mean: once added the documents to the corresponding folder?

Hi,

Basically there's individual folders that contain multiple documents.  I'd like an user to have the ability to start an approval process (flow) for an individual folder that contains all their documents.

  1. User creates a folder with a unique folder name.
  2. User uploads their relevant documents in the above said folder.
  3. Start an approval flow for all contents within that folder (ie. start approval for that individual folder)

Hope this clarifies things a bit.  Any help would be appreciated.  Currently it keeps asking me for the "List" name when I try to create a flow however there are no "Lists" for that Sharepoint site.

It just is full with Document folders, and each individual user follows the above mentioned steps to upload their content on the site and start approval.
