Building a flow from sharepoint to powerbi

Hi Microsoft Flowers

I am trying to build an automatized flow from sharepoint to powerbi. The idea is when I add new files or modify the existent files in the sharepoint, they will be reflected automatically in the power bi report (desktop and service). Currently, there is a template

it is pretty much similar to the idea mine, but when I follow this flow, and I am asked a lot of details for the excel part. I am wondering what happen if I add a new file (same data structure but with different name) in the sharepoint, should I go back to the flow to add it in the excel part of the flow? For this part, it is not related to my idea. My idea is to automatize the whole process once I upload data in the sharepoint.

So I would give the general file name in the excel part of the flow. My dataset is named as XXXX_date, so XXXX will be common for the files, but date will be different for these files.

Thank you for any suggestions, commons and feedback.

Best, Qianru

Re: Building a flow from sharepoint to powerbi

Hi @qsong ,

Could you please share a screenshot of the configuration of your flow?

The template would only work for when an existing file is updated in the sharepoint, and will not work for when a new file is created in the sharepoint.

I suggest that you could create different flow for different file that would be updated in the sharepoint, or you need to update the file which is seleted in the excel connector when a file is updated in the sharepoint.

Best regards,

Alice
