Business Process Flow Prevent going into next stage but not to the previous one

Hi all,

I have a workflow attached into a Stage which controls mark the workflow as cancelled if some condition is true in order to avoid the BPF move forward. But I have the side effect that it also blocks going into the previous Stage, is there a way to blocking only the move forward change of stage?
