Can I use dates from a SharePoint list to trigger a SP news post or add an event to a SP Events List

Is it possible to create a flow where a SharePoint news item can automatically be triggered when the date on a SharePoint list matches the current date? Or if not, can an event be added to an Event List?

For example, I have a list of employee birthdays and my company would like to have a news post blast on the morning of every employee's birthday. And if that doesn't work, add an event to a SharePoint Events List. I was able to set up a flow where on the employee's birthday, a new calendar event is created in my personal outlook calendar. However, I would like it to go to the Sharepoint calendar that everyone can see. Thanks!

Re: Can I use dates from a SharePoint list to trigger a SP news post or add an event to a SP Events List

Hi @monica95 ,

Do you want to send a notification when the date on SharePoint list matches current date, and create an event on a SharePoint Calendar list?

What do you mean by “have a news post blast”? Do you want to send out an email notification?

You could either send out an email notification, or create an event on SharePoint Calendar list using Flow.

Please check the following configuration for a reference.

The function used in the Condition is:

formatDateTime(item()?['Date'],'MM-dd')

is equal to

utcNow('MM-dd')

Under if yes branch, send an email to a group which contains all the employees, then create an item on SharePoint Calendar list.
