Can flow handle "event lists" (SharePoint calendars)

Hi!

I'm new to Flow, and trying to create a flow to alert me whenever a new item is created in a SharePoint calendar. I know that a calendar within SharePoint is a special list (event list)... This list type doesn't seem to have any triggers within Flow.

When creating a flow, the only options under SharePoint seem to support create/modify of files and list items only. When choosing a list item, I note that Flow does not automatically pick up my events list. And even though I try to create a flow by manually inputting the name of the event list, the flow saves but fails.

For starters, is there any way of getting flow to email me whenever a new item is created in a SharePoint calendar? I know I can use the built-in alerts for this, but I'm using this example as a stepping stone to creating more complex flows...

Any advice gratefully received - thanks! 🙂

Hi StanYau,

SharePoint calendar list can be filled and recoginized by flow once you choose to "Enter custom value" > fill in the calendar's name. My flow looks like this:

After I created an item on this calendar, the flow runs successfully.

May I know your detailed information in your action's field?

Regards,

Mona

Thank you so much!

I had been trying to do this for a week now.

Do you know if there is a way to do the same thing with outlook public folder calendars?

HI,

How to create flow to update another SharePoint Calendar? When any item is created it is getting copied to the another calendar but when there is any update ir does not work.

Any suggestions?

PS. Nevermind, something is different with a newly created calendar list and that very one.
