Change SharePoint file properties

I need to change custom column properties for all files and subfolders in a folder. I feel like Flow should be able to do this but I can figure out the logic. I was able to make one that would make all new files have the property but I need to change existing ones only in certain folders. Quick Edit in Sharepoint itself is handy but with subfolders it still becomes tedious.

Re: Change SharePoint file properties

Hi @ChrstnMchl,

Do you want to update custom columns with same property for all files and subfolders in a folder?

Or do you want to update custom columns with same property for all files in a certain folder and all files within a subfolder of the certain folder?

If you want to update custom columns with same property for all files and subfolders in a certain folder of SharePoint library, please take a try with the following workaround::19.JPG

Note: The Status column is a custom column in my SharePoint library.

The flow works successfully as below:20.JPG21.JPG

In addition, if you want to update custom columns with same property for all files in a certain folder and all files within a subfolder of the certain folder, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in Microsoft Flow currently.

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Change SharePoint file properties

Thanks! That appears to only do what can already be done with Quick Edit in Sharepoint directly rather easily by drag copying down. The problem is you have to go do it in each subfolder and do it there too. I was hoping Flow could take care of the subfolders too. Oh well. Mindless repetitive tasks it is... If only there was an app that could do mindless repetitive tasks for us.
