Change filename during flow, by user input mask

Hi there

I have an standard approval flow. file is coming in through a dropfolder (when a file is created) and approval is done by "Start an approval". If approved, the file will be moved in another folder (by "create file" and "delete file"). Now I like to give the user the possiblity to add a number to the filenname during the approval flow. The story behind is, that the document is an invoice and the user has to add the booking number (from ERP) for the accountant.

Is it possible in general to let the user add something to a filename during a flow? And if yes, how can this be done?

Below you can see my flow as it is at the moment, for better understanding

Thanks in advance for helping me again! 🙂

Daniel

Hi @lottiwurm

When the approver approves it, s/he will get the comments box.

Option 1:

- Ask them to enter the ERP Booking number in that box

- And then in the Flow prefix that Booking number to the file name (by renaming it) and then move it.

Option 2:

- Directly ask them to rename the file with the ERP booking number and ask to enter the new file name in the Comments box

- The flow will then take this new file name and move the file

- In this option, due to a human error, the user can enter an incorrect file name which may not exist and the flow will not find that file in order to move it.
