Check if Employee is Out of Office

Hello,

I've created an approval flow in which I have 3 approvers in sequence (after each approval I check the total cost of the request and based on that the flow either goes to the next approver or the request flow is completed). For each of them I want to check if they are not OOO, before they receive the request in order to be able to redirect it to their stand-ins. However, unfortunately in some instances the flow detects OOO even if it is not present, e.g. today- the first approver was OOO I've redirected it to their stand-in; he approved and the flow was supposed to reach the 2nd approver but it got back to me with message that OOO was detected. I go back to the flow and see that 'automatic replies' are empty. A day before the flow went smoothly through the approvals. Is it possible that OOO of the first approver impacts the flow in case of the 2nd approver? Attached pls see the screens of my flow (please don't judge it to much, i'm just a beginner).

empty(body('Get_mail_tips_for_a_mailbox_(V2)')?['value'][0]['automaticReplies']?['message'])

and from today's outputs where the flow got back to me because it detected OOO

2nd approver

I've assume that I've created the flow in a wrong way, but how come that sometimes it works perfectly and sometimes it fails?

Any ideas would be highly appreciated as I have no idea myself 😞 Please advise if you have any suggestions where this error may come from. Thanks in advance!

Hi @NUrniaz,

I see you are looping through values. But in the condition you are referring to one specific item with the index [0].

That could potentially lead to strange issues. Unless the loop always has one item 😁

Another thing I would change would be using a length function instead in the condition.  This way you can check if the length of the message is 0.

But that is more a personal preference of using the length function instead of the empty function 😁

length(outputs('Get_mail_tips_for_a_mailbox_(V2)')?['body/value'][0]['automaticReplies/message'])

Happy to help out! 🙂

@Expiscornovus- thanks a lot for such a prompt response! When it comes to the loop- I've just used a solution I've seen somewhere here on the forum. Should I loop through something else or get rid of the loop at all? Each item on my list goes through approvals in sequence depending on their amount and after each approval the status of the item is updated. So in this sense each loop is for one item at a time only
