Chose 6 approves using Multi Select Fields

Hi All

Hope you can guide me to solution.

I am trying to build a flow which will consist of 6 approvers in line. These are baisically 6 departments who need at least a person to be an approver, so i need to chose one aprover from each dep. I have user a trigger "For a slected file" where i added 6  input fields where i am planning to enter their email addresses. ( I tried to use multi select fields but couldnt make it go through the second approval onwards)

I have succesfully testes with 3 users and worked fine, tried to extend to 6 and the Reject button seems to stop working on 4th ! Even though i Reject it goes through as approved onto next person.

Hope this makes sense,

Dom

Re: Chose 6 approves using Multi Select Fields

Looks pretty straightforward, no obvious reason it'd be doing that.  I would go through and double-check that your conditions are referencing the correct approval result.  Your 4th approval condition may be using the 3rd approvals result or something silly.

Re: Chose 6 approves using Multi Select Fields

I cant seem to peek code on the condition, is there a way to do that ?

I have re-made the library, exported and imported the flow, started again etc.. its driving me nuts !

Re: Chose 6 approves using Multi Select Fields

They should all be different right ? Increment in 1's ?

body('Start_and_wait_for_an_approval_4')?['response']

I have checked the indeed they are all over the place ! I will change and test

Re: Chose 6 approves using Multi Select Fields

Correct, based on your screenshot, they should go in order.  Just look at the label on the actual approval step.

Re: Chose 6 approves using Multi Select Fields

Your screenshot isn't clear enough to make it out, what field are you using in your condition?  You want the Outcome field.

Just make sure when you're choosing via Dynamic Content menu, you look at the label and match it to the approval step.

Re: Chose 6 approves using Multi Select Fields

I seem to be missing the outcome field in some of the approval actions. Perhaps i need to just start again ?

Re: Chose 6 approves using Multi Select Fields

Hm, that's quite odd.  Can't think of any reason that would happen.  Maybe try to exit out of the flow and re-open it before re-doing anything.

You can always just do a custom expression too

Just put in

body('Start_and_wait_for_an_approval_5')?['outcome'])
and change the number appropriately.

Re: Chose 6 approves using Multi Select Fields

Thanks for the tips !

I have re done the whole thing completely from scratch and used the Outcome property instead of Response.

It seems to be working all good, will do further testing ! 🙂
