Comparing File Properties in SharePoint?

I'm looking to compare the version properties of two different files in SharePoint, with both files being in the same library. The only difference is the language contents of the files.

File A would be named F1_CH01_EN_NAME.

File B would be named F1_CH01_DE_NAME.

Issue is, I can only figure out how to manage one file per flow by triggering when File A is modified and getting the data for that File A with no way to relate to File B.

Is there a way I can create a conditional statement that if the version numbers are not equal, email myself there is a difference in version numbers?

Hi @Muphin

If the all files are static then you can build an array for related files. Then once the flow is triggered then look the array to find the related file. So in your case  file F1_CH01_EN_NAME related file is  F1_CH01_DE_NAME. Once you find the related file use the Get Properties of SharePoint flow action to get version number or last modified date to determine which one is the latest modified and construct your business logic to send email notification.

If the file is dynamic then you need to build the related files using string manipulation (Replace expression to change the EN to DE and so on) to construct all the related files and Get properties of the file using SharePoint flow action to compare.

Hope it make sense.

Hi @abm

I'd like to do this dynamically and have been able to build a string using the replace expression that changes EN to DE, but I'm not sure how to use this string to reference the file. Could you clarify what you mean by "construct all the related files and Get properties of the file using SharePoint flow action to compare."?

Get properties only allows me to refer to the trigger event file being modified. In other words, how do I change that allow me to dynamically refer to either file when I need it?

Thank you for your help.
