Hi All,
I am trying to duplicate an action that is under one Switch Case to all other cases. However, when i copy to clipboard and try to select the action from "My Clipboard", it gives me the following error message - "Failed to find SWITCH"CASE in definition". I can move the actions between cases, but i'd like to replicate the actions. It does not matter which Case I pick, the error message is the same, just the Case number changes.
Has anyone come across this issue before? or is aware of a potential solution?
Thanks.

Hi @silpiaskz
The copy actions to clip board and paste is a preview feature and currently there are a couple of issues including the switch case action control.
You can raise it as a bug here: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/I-Found-A-Bug/bd-p/BugFound
This should be fixed in the upcoming releases.
Hope this Helps!

Hi @silpiaskz
This seems to be a bug
same case for me
reason is because the definition of the copied action is different when used inside switch case

As a workaround you can place your copied activity somewhere near to switch case block but mind that out side the block . then you can drag that inside switch block smoothly without any error
I have figured out a workaround even when dealing with controls. It can be very useful when you have a lot of cases on your switch.
1. Create a parallel branch above your control
2. Create a scope under the parallel branch
3. Within the scope create the entire process you want for the case
4. Copy your scope to clipboard
5. Paste a new scope under the parallel branch as well
6. Drag your duplicate scope into the desired case
7. Update small changes accordingly per case
8. Rinse Repeat
best answer..thanks!
This is hilarious! Probably MS thought this way but didn't broadcast the message to the end users and hence their feature became bug! Alas!
Hi,
I encountered the same issue with Switch Case and the work around trick I did is, Every time I Update the item eq. Task Status from what is inputted in Post Adaptive Card with response, I will copy exactly the same case name as encircled with red in the expression below But not on the other cases which has a different Case Name.
Hello there,
It's 2022 now. Just to inform you that this bug is still occurring within SWITCH CASE conditions in Power Automate. My workaround for it is to copy and paste the action outside the SWITCH CASE (before or after) and then just drag-and-drop it to the relevant CASE.
Thanks, this worked and solved my problem.
Perfect!
This worked perfectly 3 times but it wont work for my 4th and last time!!!! Its so annoying, and I really can't build the whole flow again its just too big and complicated.
Can you think of a reason why i cant save copy and paste the scope?
I did what you said
*Created a parallel branch.
*My flow already existed so i dragged and dropped it into the new scope
tried to follow your steps but it just will not paste a copy of the scope - I'm really pulling my hair out with this - i just cant believe this simple thing is so difficult.
That wont work for me.
I have copied the switch to my clipboard but i cannot paste it anywhere at all within the flow to be able to drag and drop the switch.
It is so FRUSTRATING!
@LukeSykes paste the action at the very end of the flow with New Step. Then drag it into the correct place.

The entire flow is inside the apply to each section.
Within that I have a switch with 4 Cases.
Within the cases i have what I'm referring to as a 'Full Flow' which also contain further switches for things like transaction types and month etc.
The first 3 of my cases i was able to duplicate the Full Flow with out issue using the scope method pasted above however for the 4th and final case i cannot do it however i try.
I tried your method of copying and pasting the 'Full Flow' for case 4 in the 'New step' option right at the end of the flow but it wont even do it there, even if i do it within a scope.
Looks like you just have to copy/paste and drag-and-drop one-by-one instead of the "Full Flow" because of some scope restrictions within your actions variables.
I am also having this issue. I would really like to use switch cases but the amount of duplication I need to do for the switch case is significant. I cannot use Switch Cases with this bug currently.
