Hello,
Looking for some help with counting records from the results of a Flow. I have a Flow that groups records by their Supervisor based on a timeframe (i.e., typically records from the previous week). Following is an example for one of my supervisors:
The above result is identifying all records for all employees for all supervisors.
For this particular supervisor I want the following result:
Can someone point me in the correct direction?
Thanks

Hi @RJF61 ,
If you want to get the value of a filed from an array, maybe you could try to use the expression.
items('Apply_to_each')?['UniqueSupervisorLU']

Charlie Choi
Hi @RJF61 ,
For your question, i have made simple test for your reference.
1. Here is my excel table.
2. Here is my Flow.
union(variables('NameArray'),variables('NameArray'))
items('Apply_to_each_2')
length(body('Filter_array'))
{
"EmployeeName": @{items('Apply_to_each_2')},
"SLAMSubmitted": @{length(body('Filter_array'))}
}
Result Screenshot:

Charlie Choi
Thanks for the response! Because my data/table is the result of a Flow, will I need to run the Flow you provided on the results of my 1st Flow? I am new to this process and when I attempt to Initialize a Variable "after" my table data is created I receive the following error...
Again, thanks for your previous response.
Randy
Hi @RJF61 ,
Please add the Initialize variable Action outside the Apply to each Action.
The Flow I provide is to show the logic for handling similar problems.
You could put the array you need to process as input to the Apply_to_each Action.

Hello @v-yujincui-msft
Again, thanks for your assistance. I'll continue to work on this.
Following is my current Flow (without your information). Again too new to the process; but, don't understand where the Initialize variable for the NameArray should be placed?
Thanks,
Randy
(Sorry...still learning)
Hi @RJF61 ,
Sorry for the late reply.
Maybe you could try to modify your flow like this:
In addition, maybe you should pay attention to modifying the Action Name in the expression.
Best Regards,
Charlie Choi
Hello @v-yujincui-msft
Again, thanks for all of your help. Think I'm "almost" there.
With your help, I believe I have my syntax errors corrected and have some small items to clean up. The current Flow setup sends me an email for all employees by EmployeeName with the count.
As shown above the Flow identifies Supervisor and Employee Info. What I want to occur is that emails are sent to the Supervisor responsible for the Employee. I have the Recurrence set for once a week. Where do I insert language to initiate the report based on the Supervisor and then the employees?
Previously, the Flow ran the Apply to each, Filter Array, Create HTML Table and Send Email after the Compose for the Supervisor. Now that I have the "grouped" employees with the counts, I want to send that to the responsible supervisor.
Hi @RJF61 ,
Sorry, my bad. The Flow structure I provided earlier was not clear enough and had a mistake.
Maybe you could try to modify your flow like this:
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Best Regards,
Charlie Choi
Hello @v-yujincui-msft
I believe I have accurately Update the modifications you provided but am receiving the following error. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Randy
Hi @RJF61 ,
I updated the screenshots in the previous reply. In addition, please note the location of the 'Create HTML table' Action.
Best Regards,
Charlie Choi
Hello @v-yujincui-msft
Thanks for all your help. Tables are working great with the appropriate Counts. I also was able to sort the information from the Get Items "Order By". Hopefully my final question is regarding generation of emails.
The compose portion of the Flow generates the outputs shown below. They are in the form of...
"LastName, FirstName MiddleInitial" (this format will typically populate an email).
How do I use for email (special syntax)?
Thank You!
Hi @RJF61 ,
If you want to get the value of a filed from an array, maybe you could try to use the expression.
items('Apply_to_each')?['UniqueSupervisorLU']
Best Regards,
Charlie Choi
