Create Flow to Send Email When SharePoint List Column Changes

Hi,

For some reason I can't find an easy way to create what I thought would be an easy flow.

I have a column "Responsible Person" which is a choice field with text choices of users names.  Once it's submitted it's already set to send an alert to that user, but if it changes, I want to create another flow that sends an alert to the new person that is selected but not send an alert if anything in the list is modified, only this column.  Is there an easy way to set this up?  The trigger I'm trying to setup would be "When an item in a SharePoint list is modified send an email"

Hey @MikeNJ00

What you are looking for is probably implementing a trigger condition for the "When an item is created or modified" trigger itself. Here is a good source that can help you build that trigger condition and the flow will trigger only if that condition is met.

Hi @MikeNJ00 ,

Unfortunately, MS Flow does not currently have similar functionality to easily monitor how the specified field values have changed.

At present, what we can achieve is to use version to monitor whether the specified field value has changed. By comparing the value of the previous version of the item with the value of the current version, it is judged whether the value of the specified field has changed.

Please check this blog and see if it helps:

Also if you want similar features to be supported by MS Flow, please consider voting for similar ideas:
