Create Outlook (O365) contact from VCF or CSV file



I'm brand new to Flow and am trying to set up a simple flow to import contact infromation from VCF or CSV files. My apologies for the simplicity of the request - I could not find an answer via search nor an appropriate template from which to customize.


Broader business problem description:

1. User attends a conference and returns to the office with 200+ business cards.

2. User scans and OCR's business cards into VCF or CSV files onto network file share (unique share for each user) (I could subtitute OneDrive, if that makes it easier)

3. Flow is triggered by creation/change of the new/existing file on the network file share

4. The contacts' information is pulled from the VCF or CSV file and saved as new contacts in their Outlook 365 Contacts folder

5. 200+ new contacts show up in the individual user's Outlook Contacts folder


I've discovered the following connectors and am trying to figure out how to use them (or even if they are the appropriate choices):

1. File System connector

2. Create Contact (v2) connector




1. With the File System connector, I'd like to select a network file share using either a UNC path or drive letter. When I try to select a folder using the Picker, I get an error "Error executing the api '/datasets/default/folders/<some guid>". How to I remediate the error and select a folder?


2. With the Create Contact (v2) connector I can't find the correct dynamic content data items to match the fields that need to be populated from the file. In otherwords, I can't figure out how to map the fields from the VCF/CSV to the connector fields?

Problem 1:

The error you met in the file system is caused by the incorrect connection of the File system. 

You could refer to this post to know how to create a correct connection of File System :


Problem 2:

If possible, you can consider use Parse CSV action of the Plumsail Documents connector. It allows you to convert CSV into an array and variables for each column. Please read the following link demonstrating how it works.
