Create an Approval, how to cancel

Create an approval has the ability to cancel, how do you cancel? I can't find any documentation on this.

This is my design

Create An Approval

 -> Wait for Approval

 -> Execute After Create An Approval expires -> Cancel Wait for Approval (How do you do this)

thanks

Re: Create an Approval, how to cancel

If you are the one who created the approval navigate to the Sent tab on the Approvals section of the Flow website.  Click on the approval you want to cancel to open it and you will see a cancel button at the bottom.

@gentouruaisd

You will have to manually go and cancel the approval as @Pstork1 has mentioned.

Please Note: Start and Wait for an Approval is not cancellable. You can only cancel approvals created by using the actions Create an Approval (V2), Start and Wait for an Approval (V2).

Hope this helps!

Re: Create an Approval, how to cancel

This is nice to know.  Is it possible to script the cancellation via flow. I came across this: https://veenstra.me.uk/2019/06/13/cancel-your-pending-approvals-in-microsoft-flow/ and looks like it is accessing CDS to do it. Is that possible?

Re: Create an Approval, how to cancel

Hi @gentouruaisd

That works indeed! Please see the screenshot below:

Tesah1.png

If there have been any security roles assigned to the entity on CDS (read write delete etc) you might want to check those as well. I teseted this on my end and it deletes the approval (remember it does not cancel it. Just deletes the existence of the approval action)

Hope this Helps!

Re: Create an Approval, how to cancel

Hey @yashag2255 ,

For the sake of it, I think it's worth mentioning that the Common Data Service triggers and actions are only available in the Premium Microsoft Flow Plan. Since I have the free version, I can only see the "When a record is selected" trigger available for me to use, which can really only be useful in certain situations.
