Creating a half yearly deadline reminder flow

Hi Guys,

 

I am trying to create a Power Automate flow which will send me deadline reminders every 6 months till the end date which is given in a SharePoint list.

 

The flow should give me a deadline reminder email 10, 5  and 1 days before the due date.

 

How can i achieve this. Kindly advice.

I suggest on sharepoint you create a set of calculated fields corresponding to your reminders.

ReminderDate1

ReminderDate2

ReminderDate3

Then:

1. create a daily flow recurrence flow for each of these calculated dates that retrieves List items where:

ReminderDate1 eq utcNow('yyyy-MM-dd')

2. Loop on each item and send the reminder

What Mira said. You can just use conditions for your reminders and use date diff etc. instead of calculated columns. But def. have something to compare to and have a scheduled trigger that scans for notifications and sends them when you get a match.

You can also use standard 'Set a reminder for sharepoint' flow and adapt it to your current needs. Steps to generate it explained in this excellent article, you will find also an explanation of its internal service logic:

Thanks for helping out @efialttes , @cwebb365 , @CFernandes , @Mira_Ghaly .

 

I was able to create a flow with all your inputs, which did the job.

 

I have one more doubt.

 

Is there a way i can add a day to a datetime value which comes from SharePoint List in the filter query in 'Get Items' action.

 

I am trying to send an email to update the deadline date if it was yesterday. I have a field EndDate in my SharePoint List.

 

Kindly advice on how to achieve this.
