Creating an email reminder if checklist not completed

Hello,

I have created a checklist in powerapp and one of my objectives is to write a flow to send a reminder to people that haven't completed the checklist. Is there any guides I can follow to create a reminder?

Re: Creating an email reminder if checklist not completed

Hi @ozmusafir

That's not quite an error. Since it's not failing is not following that path. All that flow is saying is that this path can't be run because the conditions are not met.

If you notice the other path ran successfully.

Re: Creating an email reminder if checklist not completed

Hi @ozmusafir

I would look at where you're storing the reminders (SharePoint, database, excel, etc.) and build a Scheduled Flow that looks at that source, and if it's not finalized, send an email to that person.

Then you can have PoweApps inserting. And parsing the data and Flow parsing the information and sending alerts.

Makes sense?

Re: Creating an email reminder if checklist not completed

I'm storing the checklist in SharePoint.

I have created the reminder and want to test it out.

What is the best method of testing it?

Re: Creating an email reminder if checklist not completed

Hi @ozmusafir

Try the following:

1. Trigger: Scheduled (I leave it up to you what would be the frequency)

2. Action: Get Items - Get all items from SharePoint.

3. Action: For Each -

4. Action: Inside the For Each - If - If it's not completed

5. Action: Inside the If - Send an email.

Makes sense?

Re: Creating an email reminder if checklist not completed

I did a test run on the weekly reminder flow and it failed with a error of

ActionConditionalFailed.

I'm not too sure if I created the reminder properly.

Is there any guides I can follow to see if I'm creating the reminder properly.

Hi @ozmusafir

Can you please show me the Flow and the error? It's easier this way for me to try to help you

Re: Creating an email reminder if checklist not completed

Hi @ozmusafir

Thanks for providing it. Much easier. The issue is that your flow is running successfully. However, you only have a path with errors.

The error even says so. "...and actual value "Succeeded". You should add a parallel path for when the flow runs correctly. To do that just need to create a parallel branch:

add your action and select "Configure Run After":

and select "is successful"

Thank you.

Are you bale to provide instruction of how to test powerapp + reminder in a live scenario?

Re: Creating an email reminder if checklist not completed

HI @ozmusafir

Yeah, I could but your Flow is almost there. You just need to add the parallel path and it will work.

Were you able to do it?

If not just publish more information and I'll help you getting there :)..

Re: Creating an email reminder if checklist not completed

I have added the parallel path as request previously.

However, I get the error message of when I run a test.
