Creating multiple triggers

All,

Can anyone guide on how to create multiple triggers as per the message associated with the "When a file is created or modified in a folder" trigger?

My SharePoint folder structure is:

  • Shared Documents
  • Documents
  • The folder where my file lives

Thank you

Hi @Anonymous

Definitely the intention is to help you. Please see below.

Here edu is my document library. Test is my subfolder. So if I want to trigger when a file is created under test I need the following configuration.

Next I have another folder under edu doc library called 'Forms'. So for this I have to create another flow and configure it.

Basically you can only configure one directory at a time under the folder id whether its a parent or subfolder.

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for your reply. It will only trigger if you set the trigger property Folder Id to edu/test/Forms/

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

The trigger is already set for you.  For me your configuration looks ok as well. Is that not working as expected?

Thanks

@abm  No it’s not working. When I had my source file at the highest level of the folder structure, it did.

Hi @Anonymous

Believe it won't trigger the subfolders.

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

For each subfolders you need to create another flow. This is by design.

Thanks

That's too vague of a response to be helpful. Earlier you wrote that the trigger is already set for me and the configuration looks ok as well and now you're saying that another flow needs to be created. You've been helpful before, but if you're not clear on this and can't guide on how to create multiple triggers, please don't reply.

@abm  What if your Forms folder resided within your test folder and that's where an Excel file used in a Flow is being uploaded? For example, a user would upload file.xlsx to edu/test/Forms/ and that would trigger the flow.

Hello Yes,  At first I choose the folders via the browse button and the folder names showed like below, Workflow didnt triggered with this.  Then I added a Slash at the end  manually as shown in the picture ,but no luck.

The workflow runs when I  test it (in both cases) but it just doesn't Start based on the trigger.

Well, This is fixed!! ....  But i haven't changed anything...!!! ..

The first successful  workflow Ran after 6 hours from the time I triggered it ( In these 6 Hours it did not gave a clue that its going to run !!! 🙂 )   , it worked fine from the Second run onwards......  Hope such delays wont occur again!!
