Cutom text for Library Name input in the get files (properties only) sharepoint connector.

Library Name input is misleading. how can i get hold of the correct information that is required for this field?

DisplayName is a filtered sharepoint list site root.

image.png

Selecting a specific folder and exporting this to json indicates that this field is not a name at all but uuid

the above screenshot creates the following JSON for this action:

"path": "/datasets/@{encodeURIComponent(encodeURIComponent('https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/XXXXXX'))}/tables/@{encodeURIComponent(encodeURIComponent(items('Apply_to_each')?['DisplayName']))}/getfileitems",

while selecting a specific library generates:

"path": "/datasets/@{encodeURIComponent(encodeURIComponent('https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/XXXXXX'))}/tables/@{encodeURIComponent(encodeURIComponent('xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx'))}/getfileitems",

Is there a way that I can get the UUID from the libraries?

bonus question:

Why do they use the term "Library Name" when in reality its something more like "Select Library (UUID)"?

I see these misleading inputs all to often 😕

Hi @ hjaf,

Could you please explain more about the "UUID" that you mentioned?Do you mean the string of the Library Name?

For your question: How can i get hold of the correct information that is required for this field?

If you have library name "library1", you could fill in expression as below to get it:

encodeURIComponent('library1')

You could refer to link below to learn more about the workflow definition language:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/logic-apps/logic-apps-workflow-definition-language

For second question:Why do they use the term "Library Name" when in reality its something more like "Select Library (UUID)"?

Microsoft flow would index the "Library" according to the encodeURIComponent of the "Library Name" for safe,as is said in the link:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/logic-apps/logic-apps-workflow-definition-language

The expression encodeURIComponent() is used to escape URL-unsafe characters from string,

The "Library Name" you could see in the drop-down list is a friendly display.

I have made a test on my sdie,If you fill in expression as above in the sharepoint connector, such as my screenshot below:

The flow would run successfully as below:
