Date Function

Hi all,

I am trying to create a flow that copys a file from drop box to a SharePoint directory. If its the first file that has been copied that day, it will create a folder formatted as the date, e.g. 20-12-2017. The file copying works fine but I have been unable to get the creation of the folder working when usign the date on the day.. Any help would be greatly appreicated!

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Date Function

Hi @chrism90,

Could you please show a screenshot of your flow’s configuration?

Do you want to copy the file to SharePoint library when a file is created in Dropbox?

Further, do you want to create a folder formatted as the date and copy the file to it within SharePoint if it’s the first file that has been copied that day?

I have made a test on my side and please take a try with the following workaround:

  • Add “When a file is created” trigger of Dropbox connector, specify Folder.
  • Add a “Create file” action of SharePoint connector, specify Site Address, within Folder Path field set to following formula:
/MyLibrary/utcNow(…) expression

Details about utcNow(…) expression as below:

utcNow('dd-MM-yyyy')

The flow works successfully as below:3.JPG

Re: Date Function

Hi

In order to adapt date format to your requirements I would suggest you the following expression

utcNow('dd-MM-yyyy')

Hope this helps
