Delete information in a SPO list field

Hi,

in my SPO list, I have an optional Groups and persons field/column.

I would very much like to build a flow, that, among other actions, when updating the object, it also deletes the information in this specific Groups and persons field. Is this possible?

In a text field, I can delete the existing information by simply replacing info with "--" or "empty" or any text I choose, see the green marking in the image.

But in a Groups and persons field, I am of course only allowed to insert a person/group, see the blue marking in the image. And what I want to do is just to empty this field. But I cannot find a way to do this.

Is it at all possible, or may there be a workaround? I have played with the thought of creating a "fake person" to be inserted, but that's not ideal.

Re: Delete information in a SPO list field

Hi @MrtnM,

First you have to confirm that whether the property of this field is set to "Require that this column contains information".

If so, there is no way to delete the value of this field; if not, you could configure Update item action by referring to the following method.

If person/group has no value in it, it should be an empty array, so as long as you fill an empty array for this field, you could clear all the values inside.

  • Initialize an empty array variable and click "Enter custom value" to populate the variable value in this field.
  • Be careful not to configure variables in a single item. Be sure to switch the input type of the field to "input entire array" and then configure the fields.

Please take a try.

Re: Delete information in a SPO list field

Thanks,

I tried this, but since it is a "Persons or groups" column, it only accepts people or groups, so I got an error, translated "It was not posible to find the user"

{
"status": 400,
"message": "Det gick inte att hitta den angivna användaren .\r\nclientRequestId: fc9d4322-db48-4aaf-89e7-5da8433eb293\r\nserviceRequestId: 03f4bc9e-60c1-0000-4d58-eeada34e4f4d"
}

Re: Delete information in a SPO list field

Hi @MrtnM,

I know, my TestNull field is also of type Person/Group.

Imagine if this field has no value at the beginning, then it is an empty array and there is no Person or Group.

Could you provide a screenshot of your configuration?

I can successfully execute this side.

Do not configure variables in a separate item.

Need to click here and then configure the variables here.
