Dynamic Content Not Showing Up when using List Rows in Table

Dear Power Automate Community,

I'm currently building a flow to automate the sending of email when the date column in my excel spreadsheet (hosted in OneDrive) matches Today's Date.

Information for the Excel Spreadsheet Table:

  • Table named have a standardize naming convention "MMM_YYYY"
  • Table contains a Date Column

To explain the flow that has been build so far:

  1. Get Today's Date (Expression: formatDateTime(utcNow(),'MM/dd/yyyy') - this is to match the date column within the spreadsheet
  2. Get Today's Date MMM YYYY (Expression: formatDateTime(utcNow(),'MMM_yyyy') - this is for the next step to identified the table that I wanted
  3. List Rows Present In a Table - trying to identified the table based on today's date information. For an example, MAR_2020 or APR_2020

After the action of "List Rows Present In a Table", it's not showing up any Dynamic Content for me to add for the next step.

Last but not least... Power Automate is awesome!! Thanks in advance guys!

Hi @hongdet

Unfortunately at this time. Dynamic table name
Is not supported in excel online connector.

Please try this workaround from this blog post:

Hello @hongdet

Can you try storing the values inside a Compose action.

So inside the loop add a compose shape.
The compose action should be able to see the the dynamic content.

Now in the email reference the compose action.

Thanks for the advice @Jcook

Unfortunately it's still not showing the column within the excel table for me to add into an email for sending.

Hi @hongdet

I just realized your table name.

Table name cannot be dynamic. Please select the table name from the drop down

Hi @hongdet ,

As you are sending an email for each row in excel (Apply to each control) so to get the value of the columns value for given row you can use expression : items('Apply_to_each')?['Name']  ( Name is the column name)

Thanks for the reply @Jcook

Unfortunately, the spreadsheet classified its data into different sheet and the table is named after the month (eg. APR_2020) hence I'm not able to select from the dropdown list.

Hi @DeepakS ,

Thanks for the advice, would I be able to add a condition to compare the Today's Date against the Date within the table?

Why I asked if because seems like it's returning false for all of the record.

PS: Date Cell in the table as be formatted to "Text"

Hi @hongdet,
Try to use formatDateTime with excel column value before comparing.

Hi @DeepakS,

As per your advice, I've did the conversion:

Condition.JPG

At the same time, I also ensured the Today's Date is in the same format (MM/dd/yyyy):

And this is what I was setting for the condition to do the comparison but unfortunately all of the record result is still false:
