Dynamic Project ID / Project Site

We are currently running a PoC of Project Online, and one requirement that's been identified is the ability to automatically create tasks in the project plan when items are added to the Actions and Decisions logs we've created in the project sites.

We've been able to automate this using the template Flow, and have been able to add a conditional step that means the Flow only runs if the user has checked a 'create task?' box when creating the item in the Actions log. Becuase the template requires you to manually define the enterprise project ID and the name of the SharePoint site and list it should monitor for new items, it's looking like we would have to manually create this Flow for every new project every time a new project is created.

Is it possible to dynamically identify the name of the current site, and the Enterprise ID of the project associated with that site? If we could capture those and use that variable in our Flow, we could create it once against the site template and when new sites are created would already exist against the new site and be able to identify which project's schedule tasks should be created in.

(As an extra, I anticipate the next question from my users will be 'will it automatically mark the Actions log closed when the task is complete - I presume a similar Flow could be created to watch certain tasks and update linked attributes in the list item?)

Thanks in advance,

Re: Dynamic Project ID / Project Site

Hi @maxwellingham,

There is no way to dynamically identify the name of the current site and the the Enterprise ID of the project  associated with that site in Microsoft Flow currently.

If you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:

Best regards,
